I agree with Okotoks as I would rather see his bulls and say some groups of red angus cows from 5L. I would like to see some linebred red angus bulls sampled on his cows. If you dont get some hybrid kick from that mating then I give up. Some Beckton bulls maybe? Im sure there are many more choices. I like the fact 329 is a son of 034 and grandsire is RS ST269 832 00 who is one of the lowest birthweight bulls I have ever found. Interesting to read his pedigrees. FAR from the fashion today or mainstream. I see Venture and 269 in the catalog with some AR SU LU/ Deertrail stuff. Other than that its all RS bred cattle generations deep. I was told once Venture didnt work that good for him till he got back to 3/4 his breeding, then it clicked. We all can stand to learn a great deal from this program. Between him and Mr Kaper, we have two breeders in the states who can supply the seed for the rest of us to grow. Just think of the carcass premiums one could garner turning a Sneed bull out on a group of angus or angus cross cows that have already proven their value to the feedlot. That IMO, is a smart rancher.
Sorry to ramble but I see oppurtunity knockin and all I can do is watch and twidle my thumbs for now.
