Well, as many of you remember we had a barn fire last year and it killed two of our show steers.  My daughter lost her county steer in the fire seven days before she would have shown him.  We rebuilt as soon as would could and got back on our feet.  She had a backup major show steer this year that she did fairly well with.

Well....a year has gone by and it is county fair time again.  Tuesday night was the steer show.  She has now proved to be my "comeback kid", she got Grand Champion Steer at the show.  Many a tear were shed that night and it was a very sweet victory for her.  She worked extra hard with this calf this year.  I just want to say how very proud I am of Shelby, she showed her heart out and pulled it off!

I am one happy and proud momma this week!!

***Just got her pictures in from Barker!!!

(thumbsup)  Thank you very much!!  We weighed him in at 1308 Lbs., but after we put it all back in to him I would say he was back around 1390 Lbs, where he was a week before.  We had to get him up there pretty good on the weight because he is so darn long.  He was a pretty easy one to fill back up.  He was super smooth on his cover and had a top that was very expressive.

Great, Great, Great, Great & Great!!!!  I absolutely knew this would be the outcome.  Please give my congratulations to Shelby, and my hat is off to the family.  Adversity can tear down, or breed determination. The strong may survive, but the strongest THRIVE.  The best is yet to come!

Very proud for your family success and determination.  The tough wins are always the sweetest, I shed my tears of pride and joy also this year with my two sons victory.  This is what life is all about as a parent, teaching our kids to get up and go again when life knocks you off your feet.  Again a big CONGRATULATIONS from the Sawboss Family! <beer>

This is a picture a few hours before the show, it is a bad picture because he is standing on uneven ground.  When I get the good pictures in I will post them.  I am one happy and proud momma this week!!

(angel)  I absolutely love this!!!  This has brought tears to my eyes this morning.  Shelby has the letter that you wrote to her last year in a picture frame and she reads it all of the time.  Thank you for believing in her and God Bless you for all of your support!  Thank you so very much!!
