As we pulled up to the pasture we had sunny 23 above (74F) as we found said heifers a storm front moved in dropping the temperature to 8 above (46F) in under 15 minutes. Needless to say this video is all we got from the safety of the vehicle.  Good job upthecreek and family visited yesterday  <beer>

We must have been towards the edge of the storm, have a look at the 2nd video in this article (Deerfoot Trail Sign) looks to me like it is seriously under designed!

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/story/2012/08/14/calgary-weather-storm-lightning.html

I saw some pictures of damage 50 miles N of Calgary and it looked like the wind must have been pretty high. Trees down, branches all over yards, damage to roofs and 1.5 inches of rain. I also heard there was pretty bad hail in several places as well. You guys in Alberta have had many severe storms this year. In some places they have hardly started haying as they can't go more than 2 days without a substantial rain. Too much rain can become a problem but I always think that mud still trumps dust

BTW, the heifers look great and it looks like they are having a great summer. !

Great set of heifers, love the deep roans. How have you used the 329 bull, will be interesting to see the results.

That storm must have moved in to MB on Thursday while we were camping. Went down to 7 degrees at night and my 6 mo old daughter was wearing mittens and a fleece winter suit over her sleeper just to keep her warm!! The wind wrecked some guy's fancy fishing boat by smashing it into the dock over night. That was one unhappy camper!  Nice cattle BTW!
