Justintime-they had some IDS IMPROVER 2K semen in the sale. Do you have any pictures of him?

I don't have any pictures of Improver 2K. I was thinking of trying to buy it but was in Alberta at another sale and completely forgot about it until it was almost over. I would not have been able to bring this semen into Canada, but I thought I could use it to flush something in the US and then bring the pregnant recips or the calves up here.

Improver 2K was a direct Improver son, but I am fairly certain he must have been TH free as I have never heard of any of his offspring being carriers. He turned out to be a very good breeding bull.

Improver 2K was born a few weeks after we purchased his dam and 5 other bred females in a sale in Kansas City. These cattle were brought to the US by the Irish government for this sale. The cattle we puchased were sent to Beef Genetics Research, Mankato, KS to be export tested for us. When we picked them up a couple of the newborn calves had developed pinkeye and as a result of this, they were not allowed to come into Canada. We had the 5 cows and 5 calves sitting on a farm 1 mile from the Canadian border for almost a year. We tested and tested and tested some more, and we could never get all 10 to pass their bluetongue test. Even the vets told us the test for bluetongue at that time was not very good, as Ireland was bluetongue free and the cattle had only been in the US a few weeks.  As a result, we ended up sending them to an Illinois breeder. In the next 3 years, we  bought and sold these 5 cows 4 times. They ended up in Texas. I have bought and sold a lot of cattle over the years, but this group of cattle is one set I truly wish I could have done more with.
I think the dam of 2K was one of the very best Irish cows I have ever seen. That is why I considered buying this semen. She was an amazing female! I am almost afraid to ask what this semen sold for, as I will probably get upset because I missed this sale.
