done with WI state fair. i took down my mainetainers. all three won their classes. my baby march calf was champion calf and champion bred and owned calf. she was then reserve champion bred and owned mainetainer heifer. i got to go into supreme drive which was huge for me especially since shes a calf that bred and own as well as the cow was my first registered heifer so i am very pleased. i just wish she was deeper. i was also reserve champion 15 yr old showperson out of 30 people.

We had a GREAT state fair! Our embryo bull won Champion Simmental Bull (http://www.mostatefair.com/photos/browse/category/beef-cattle-simmental-breed-show-4h/240#content), Champion Pair (http://www.mostatefair.com/photos/browse/category/beef-cattle-simmental-breed-show-4h/240#content), Reserve Champion Simmental bull and Champion Bred and Owned bull (http://www.mostatefair.com/photos/browse/category/beef-cattle-simmental-breed-show-4h/240#content), and her heifer that won the Champion Bred and Owned and Champion Purebred Simmental at the district fair won reserve in her division (http://www.mostatefair.com/photos/browse/category/beef-cattle-simmental-breed-show-4h/240#content). If the links all have the same pictures, she has the last 4 of the last 5 pictures posted. She had several people interested in her bull calves, which are for sale. We took a total of 6 head, and 4 of the six were in the top. The two that were not were bought heifers, go figure! Three of the four in the top were bred by us, or an embryo we put in and raised. We are very proud... ending our year on a great high!
We are pretty much done showing here, just two little "blow and go" shows in the first part of September. Feels good, been a busy show season for us!
Take care, and good luck to all who still have big fairs! God truly blessed us this year and our herd!
God, family, and Simmental cattle;  that's what makes life worth living!

I am a very proud dad.  My son and daughter worked very hard all last week at our fair.  I had more people than I can count (a lot of complete strangers) come and complement me on how hard my son worked and how polite he treated every one.  He kept his calves clean and his stall and alley way swept all week.  It was funny watching a 9 year old going up and down the alley picking up the trash while the older kids just set and watched him.  The bonus was he had champion Angus and Shorthorn heifers.  Then my daughter who is 5 showed in the clover bud division and did a great job.

Congratulations Everyone! It looks like we have some pretty powerful animals belonging to some folks on here!  <party>

I just got back from our County Fair! We had a GREAT week! One of my Simmental Heifers got Grand Champion and Supreme Champion Female, and another one of mine got Reserve Junior Champion Female! My Grand Champ was a great partner, and She helped me to win Senior Showmanship! Our FFA Chapter was also very strong with Hogs, Lambs and Steers as well! But most importantly, everyone had a fun time and there were plenty of smiles!  <rock>

Our State Fair is in early October, and we hope for the same success!
Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy cattle and that's pretty much the same thing as far as I'm concerned!

Simmental and SimAngus bulls available year-round!

One hell of a day at my County Fair in Southeast Nebraska. The morning started early. Feeders started off. Champion Angus Feeder Female. Champion Overall Feeder Female. Champion Crossbred Feeder Steer. Champion Overall Feeder Steer. Then came what i thought was my strong point. My Breeding Heifers, I had Champion Angus Breeding Heifer with a Senior Yearling out of EMBLAZON. I had Champion Simmental Breeding heifer with a Senior yearling out off PATHFINDER. I went into final drive for Breeding Heifer holding the halter of the Simmental, while my friend was holding the halter of the Angus. I took the Simmental because I thought she was better than the Angus. I got beat by a Mainetainer, she was one hell of a heifer. My Angus stood second to the Mainetainer. Reserve Supreme Breeding Heifer is very respectable in the county. I was very happy with my day so far... Then came Steers. I had champion Simmental Steer and Champion Angus steer. the Simm was out of a meyer 734 son. He had a ton of hair on him. Final Drive came for steers. I didnt win Champion or reserve steer. but I had some pretty darn good competition... Overall i had a very successful day in my opinion. I finished with 9 Trophies. The hardware was pretty heavy!!! hahaha ;D

My county fair was the last week in July.  I had the oportunity to take two heifers and my brother took his pig.  This year was my senior year of showing at county and both heifers did good.  ONe heifer was Grand Champion Crossbred (pictured) and the other was 3rd in her class.  My brother got Reserve Grand Champion Market Hog with his blue butt gilt (pictured).  Both the heifer and the pig are going out to our State fair the second weekend in September.

We've had a great summer!  County fair, my kids had grand and reserve Maine-Tainer, Grand and reserve market lambs, Jr. Lamb showmanship, sr. lamb showmanship, 1st and 3rd rate of gain on market lambs.  At the MO State fair Evan (my 9 year old) won his class in Jr. and open Maine-Tainer show and Danielle was the Champion Jr. Maine-Anjou showman.

Really proud of there hard work, they have really stepped it up this year!
