Just curious if anyone has any on the ground yet? He seemed really popular. Expecting 2 calves from him in about two weeks.

I would say the biggest reason that you arent getting much for replies is because he is being used in production based operations (because he is a big numbered bull) and not so much in the show calf operations. I have seen a few and they have been very good calves. Gaffneys in Wisconsin showed one in Denver that i thought would make a very good show calf because she combined an awesome set of epds with one heck of a phenotype, but time will tell if it gets shown. As far as the bull himself, I saw him at Riley Bros and bought a cane of semen on him because I liked the looks of him. He is probably one of the longest spined bulls i have seen and is super athletic when he is on the move. I think if mated right he could make some very good show calves, but I dont see him becoming a sire of show calves because he doesnt have that well known prefix in front of his name. Thats my 2 cents, take it for what its worth.

Expect some birthweight.  I had a 92 lb. bull calf out of a 1500 lb. cow.  The calf is very nice, good structured, and will hopefully make a nice bull.  He has a great disposition and meets me at the pen gate to be played with.  I am expecting a couple more, but didn't use him on our show type cattle.  I figured that he will be better used for numbered cows.

Have seen 4 of them. 2 heifers and 2 bulls I believe and out of registered angus cows. They don't come really exciting, but in a month you can see how much they start changing.  Good thickness and great bone on them for angus, but not clubby boned thankfully.  He looks to be pretty promising, some people are liking the active duty calves a bit more I guess.  I had a double vision out of a shorthorn cow, pretty cool calf.  I do not have a scale but he measured 42 long, 32.5 high and 10.5 wide at the hip in inches.  Was up and sucking very quickly and lots of life to him.  Cow has never had a small calf in her life, so I can't say much about this calf be normal for DV.

Had our first Tour of Duty calf this morning. Born unassisted and is very small. Haven't been able to get a weight yet but would guess nothing over 70lbs. Really excited to see how the calf progresses!!

3 week old pic of the heifer. Excuse the poor quality, it's a night photo.
