I have a show heifer that has been difficult to get bred. Last cycle (which was 2 weeks ago) we bred her 3 times in hopes of ensuring a pregnancy. Now I'm needing to get her feet trimmed before the Iowa State Fair. I have 15 days before she has to go in and 9 days before she may cycle again.  Looking for some advice on what we should do. Anyone trimmed feet successfully on a short-bred heifer?
Thanks

I'd be more worried about trimming feet that close to a big show.  Not because she'll still be tender, but most of our cattle look their best about 3 weeks after a trim, and can go through an awkward stage until about 10 days after.  Just cutting it close is all.

I don't think tipping her on her side will make her slough a calf any more than going to a show would.
