In August of this year I reviewed my cattle venture and I decided I would sell all my cows, etc. and get out of the business.
I mentioned this to only a very few breeders in Canada.
Since that time I have been very unhappy with my decision and I have decided to stay in the Shorthorn business.

This past weekend I culled my herd and shipped the cows that didn't meet my criteria.
I was also able to sell some calves and shipped those that were not going to be keepers.

The BIG CHANGE is that my cattle are now located at Jamie Whitworth's Shady Lane Farm at Mortlach, Sask and he will be managing my herd.

I want to stay in the Shorthorn business mainly because of the good people I have had the pleasure to work and socialize with and because I am having fun doing what I do.

Jaime is "Shady Lane" on this forum

At a moments notice JIT helped us move many of the cows and calves on Sunday.
Many thanks Grant
Jaime and my cousin moved the rest to Jamie's place on Tuesday.

If you want to look at the cows at any time give Jamie a call.
He will be pleased to show you around.

I am back in the Shorthorn business and happy about it
I may have fewer cows but they are the good ones.

We will update our web site shortly.

See you at the shows and sales.

Many of you will continue to receive the e-coms from ULURU.

Well that is great news for the breed Bob (thumbsup) I'm glad you made that decision.
I'm sure their will be some interesting results coming down the road from Uluru and Shady Lane. (clapping)

Glad to hear that you are still in the business. Once you have been bitten by the bug it is hard to shake.

Bob, it was my pleasure to help you last Sunday. I'm very sure there is lots of fun left for you in this business and I think Jamie will do a great job for you. I have always felt that this business is as much a people business as it was about the product, the cattle. You are right in that there are lots of great people in this business. There are also some who just complain and blame their lack of success on others in the business. I guess there are lots of these later types of people in every business, so we have to concentrate on the positives.
Personally, I'm pleased you have decided to continue with your venture in Shorthorns. I think you made the right decision, as from what I know of you, you don't like to quit midstream, so to speak.

This next part will even be news to you Bob... as I am also leasing some cows to Jamie this fall. Jamie has as much fire in his gut for the production of better cattle, as anyone I know. Jamie and I are partners in three herd bulls now, ie: Timeline, Touchdown and Rockstar ( who is as close to flawless in design as any bull I have seen in a very long time!)  I am not only helping him establish his herd, but I'm helping myself...and it should be a really great fit. Hopefully, this will be great for all of us, you, me, as well as Jamie.

Is the Timeline bull still alive?

You bet he is still alive. He walked with 30 of my best cows this summer which is the first time I have had the opportunity I have had to have him used naturally. I have two ET sons of Timeline that I will be showing this fall that I am pretty pumped about. The Rockstar bull is another son that owned by Shady lane and myself. He is IMO, the best Timeline so far. Jamie will be showing a couple Timeline heifer calves that I think can take a fair bit of heat in the ring. They are pretty good!  I am impressed with how Timeline came in from pasture last week. He held his condition very well.
IMO,( and I admit that I may be a slight bit biased) , I think Timeline does something very well, and that is he sired bull calves that are better than he is himself, and he does this on a very regular basis. He has now been used in 6 herds since we sold him, and all report no calving issues with his calves.
