i'm tellin ya that new calves at our house is like feedin time at the zoo. we have desperately needed some kind of security camera system at our house for the past 3 days. we have neighbors and relatives showing up unannounced so they can get a sneak preview at the competition. it's getting really ridiculous. we are concerned about someone coming and doing something to the calves when we aren't here. it's happened before.

so, i need some input. any suggestions on what to get?? we're looking for something on the inexpensive side, like $125 or less. we just need a basic camera. not a full-on fort knox lockdown.  ;D  although, that would be awesome!!

i might've found something that would work for us. thanks for all future help.

I would suggest something that is more versitle unless these calves are always inside and in the light. I would get an infra-red camera that is weather proof. So you can see if somethings going on at night. They dont have a very far reach most about 50-75 foot.

I would try a digital game cam, set it up at the perimeter and see who is coming and going at your place.  You can even get ones that send a pict to your cell or email.

that's like what we want. basically, something that's motion sensored to a vehicle like 10 feet in front of it, take a pix, and let us know who was there. it's just going to be at the end of the barn.

might even get another dozen to watch the cows!! just like sullivan's.

get a cuddeback digital scouting cam. they are the best. the ones that send pix to hom or cell are really expensive. the buckeye cam or smartscouter are the ones that send pix to home or cell

Almost makes you want to put a couple low quality feeder calves in the front pen & put the good ones out back.
