Check out this video of the 1941 International Grand Champion Steer, who was owned by Purdue University. Loyal Alumnus IV, an Angus steer, was selected out of the university herd under the direction of Prof. Carl F. Gobble. The video is a little slow moving, but make sure you watch at 6:03 to see how the University transported the steer around after the International to display their prized animal on a nation-wide tour.

it appears things haven't changed much.  the ration is good, the showing is the same, and guys still get excited when the wind picks up.

The really sad part of that video to me is while we have cleaned up the front of the animal, we have at the same time narrowed up the rear and taken all of the base of width out, interesting.

Thanks for sharing, the Angus Association has done such a great job of preserving history for generations to come, I think it is just amazing to look back!

Thanks everyone! I like the comment about how in 50 years we'll go back and look at things and say what were they thinking. I am about to post two most videos from our basement about showing and fitting under a separate post. I hope you'll look at those too.
