Ok, I have had enough. I can not stand it.
obama wants a bill to pass so he can "leave a legacy". He has chose the health care bill. He has had private meetings (so much for transparency), he has called for "pass SOMETHING pleeeaaasssseeeee" (sounds like a 5 year old begging for a cheap toy) then he has threatened "this must be done by Christmas" (really? Is the senate not in session after Christmas? Oh I forgot, that is when the campaigning starts for the next election).
Now he has agreed to buying a vote from a Senator from Nebraska. Yep, that Senator held out until everyone (including obama) agreed that his state would not have to pay anything for medicare EVER. That is FOREVER. I must say, good job Senator. But now I have to wonder, why isn't every other Senator holding out for the same deal? If I were them, I would reverse my vote until they bought my "yes" vote for the same price (or maybe more).
A majority of the public doesn't want reform. A majority says it will raise health care cost. A majority says something is NOT better than nothing. In fact I heard in a news show that "I realize the public opinion is that this health care reform is not good. But sometimes the people do not understand what is good for them." (I am sorry, can not remember who it was) So I guess we the people are just stupid. I mean, it is "we the people" that are paying the bill and it is the Senators/Congressman that have the Cadillac of life long health care.  It is "we the people" that voted these losers into office. Hmmmmm, on second thought, maybe we are stupid.

Thanks for letting me rant.

In the end Nelson will not have the kahunas to say no. He never did in nebraska to big business. Only thing he's worried about is reelection.

In the end, Nelson will do what he feels is right for Nebraska.  You learn much more from him by talking with him face to face versus through media.

That is his legacy. A legacy of destroying prosperity, freedom, and the economy.

Millions of people makin 40 to 60 thousand a year have bashed the democrats and healt care debate.  Rural people can show making less than that because of deductions, yet drive a 50,000 dollar truck and live in a 300,000 house.  These same people will be some of the first to buy into 100 dollar a month premiums for their family of four.  NOt bashin anyone, just sayin the facts..  alot of bark and not much bite..

The bad thing is when our politics get this dirty an cutthroat , FROM THE president on down its getting pretty bad, the republicans are really howling now, but what did they do to prevent some of this when they had a chance---

Its money down a rat hole. This deal will cost at least 5 times more than they predicted. It always does. Its symbolism over substance. It looks like to me Nelson was grandstanding for the bible beaters. Its nothing more. They will switch back to pay for abortions but Nelson can pat himself on the back and say "I tried".Nelson makes me sick with the bribe. But he's quite the politician.

I am not going to debate the actual bill (we already did that in another thread), I was pointing out the fact that our politians, regardless of republican or democrat, are being bought and sold and ignoring what the people are saying. It has never been this bad. I am one that votes for the person and not the party, so I gladly point fingers at everyone! Could it be the Illinios connection? Could it be that no one cares anymore? Could it be our elected leader is so self focused on passing "anything" to make a name for himself that he doesn't care if what he is doing isn't popular? Is he and our congressman and senators so egotisitical that they beleive they know what is better for than ourselves?
It was suggested to me that he knows he isn't going to see the next four years (re-election) so he has to pass everything the first year because he will be campaigning the next 3 (he has done that his whole career - as has others).

How can we change this before it goes to far to return?

it already is too far to return.

reality is you have to take away benefits already negotiated and absolutely no one has the courage to do that, so anarchy it is.

always has been always will.

Last I knew no one know whats in the bill cause Reid won't release it to public. So we are debating a bill in which we don't know what it is?

Surely you arent going to judge and belittle me because of MY choice and MY opinion.  I am entitled to my own $0.02, as is everybody else.  You dont have to AGREE, but you also don't have to ridicule.

I tell you what, when your $.02 doesn't come out of my pocket, I'll agree you are entitled to it.

Until then, excusing the CORRUPTION of people like your senator and Landrieu is asking a bit too much of the rest of us who are going to pay for the soul your state just sold.
