Any body know the heifers?
Champion was the Maine or Mainetainer--van Vliet's ?  I don't remember the order of the next 4, but I believe they included the Angus (Schneider), commercial ( Irwin girl from Crawfordsville are), reserve Maine or Maintainer, and either the Foundation or Simmy champion (Pemberton?).    Not huge numbers at the show.      By the way, the Angus steer was in the top 5, not the Char if I remember correctly. There was a cool Char appearing steer in the top 5, but he showed as a Maine.

So was 5th a yellow char or a cream colored maine?
I think those are pretty good numbers...better than last year there and really good considering there were two points shows in the state that day.

Fifth was a "char appearing" steer that showed as a Maine--I believe he came from Jeff Maas--shown by Ihns?

I think Ihn's steer came from Downing's fall bid-off

Who had the Simmy steer?  Curious what the Simmy side looks like - is he a Macho?  Looked good for a Simmy.

Yeah very flashy.  I would agree that it wasn't the soundest but compared to the other Simmy steers he sure stood out.

Saw the cream colored maine at Grinnell...nice looking steer.
The Ellsworth show was very small......unfortunatly becasue the judges were top notch and the prizes were some of the best of any show we have been to.
Saturday had 26 head TOTAL
And
Sunday had 31 head TOTAL

Heifers:
Champion: Van Vliets maintainer
Reserve: Schneider-Angus
3rd: Erwin-Commercial
4th: reserve maintainer
5th: Foundation Simmi-Pemberton, from Robinson's

The red painted up Simmi steer is a Johnny Walker Red.

I believe 64 heifers and 36 steers was the official count on the day. 100 total for sure, which was 3 less than last year.
