I like Yellow Jacket...
I think he makes good steers and even better heifers.  Can be a little throaty at times but not to where it can't be shown out.

Northern Legend 3N (Shorthorn) He has been producing deep bodied fancy females that turn onto good brood cows, thick muscular bulls who are now producing like their sire, and he even has had steers that have gone on to be 4H champions.  Some added bonuses are that he is 100% dehorner and is seems to be easy calving.  He is one of the first Canadian bulls to be taken into the Australian Durham project.

Posted are his sons
Diamond Regal Legend who is now owned with Kohlstaedt
Diamond Rising Legend who sold as a calf to a commercial breeder for $7200
and some daughters
Diamond Minnie Searle Reserve Junior Champion at the Canadian National junior show
Diamond Terrific Baroness Grand Champion Interbreed female 4H junior show
Diamond Sunset Dottie donor female for Highland Stockfarm

I'm pretty high on SAV Net Worth.  He is a true changer.  I don't know if I've ever seen a bull work as well on an average cow as he does.  When you use him on the good ones....watch out!

So you think he would work well on Red Angus and Shorthorn? Do his calves grow without creep? All grass? Curious on ur thoughts.

I think he could help shorthorns out quite a bit.  The calves that I've seen have a ton of body and muscle. I see alot of shorthorns that look pretty hard.  He'd soften them up.

As far as growing without creep....I just got done looking at twelve Net Worths on pasture without creep and all but one were doin a heck of a lot better than the other calves with different sires.

As far as  Red Angus, I think he would be a nice outcross for them.  To be honest, I'm not really the guy to ask about cross-breeding.  I'm strictly a black angus breeder but I think he could work in a number of scenarios.

How have the dispositions been on your net worth calves?

The ones that I have are really docile.  The heifer that we are showing this year is as tame as they come.  However, I had to work on one Net worth last winter and she was pretty waspy.  I would not use him on any EXT lines.  Use the temperment of the cow as an indicator.  If she has a bad attitude, you will have a terrible attitude on her calf if it is sired by Net worth.  If she's a pup, expect the same out of her calf if you use net worth.  In my experience he doesn't make them worse on a good temperment cow.

We raise and show maines.  My hands down favorite so far has been Majors Money Man.  Easy calving, calves full of vigor, good marketable calves, great temperment.  After were done showing them, its hard to replace a Money Man daughter as a cow.  They are very functional easy doing cows.

Pictured is a Money Man bull we sold and was reserve at the Iowa beef expo a couple years ago.
