From your comments and the fact she is a cow, not a heifer the obvious bull to use is TR firewater.  You know what color the calf will be and firewater  is a bargain given his calves show record.

Freddy,

Just what are you trying to say?  Come out and say what you mean if you have the facts to back yourself up...

Firewater is a big hit and miss!!!! Not alot of consistency!!!!! Im not so sure about Choppin Wood is probably not the best way to go..........Solid Gold might work out........My opinion is just to pick the best one you like and breed her if you like the calf breed her again that way if not try something else.......

If you want a untried bull CHOPPIN WOOD Could sure fit the ticket ....As far as color my guess is that you could get a black calf out of some of these bulls ...The smokes on Angus will have about 50% black & smoke calves....

This is the bull that I was thinking about while reading this thread. If there's no hurry, wait until some Choppin Wood calves start hitting the ground and try to find some to look @ if possible. I like the Firewater a bunch also, but don't know about the comments made about the records that need to work to go to the shows.

We have 9 Merit Roundup calves on the ground and they are loocking good. On mature purebred charolais cows the females birthweight  was 94 pounds and the males 97 pounds. The cows are calving indoors in a cold climate (Quebec, Canada) and have free choice hay. Our average calves  birthweight is 96 pounds on 130 purebreds including 20 heifers.

if you even consider yellow jacket, i think troubador would be a better choice i think yellow jacket has to be used on angus cows he takes out allot of rib shape
