This is my daughters heifer she showed all winter. I want some opinions on how to breed her this spring. She's a GF Maximus out of a reg. angus cow. She isn't bad but she needs some help in her front end. Feel free to tear her apart I'm interested in hearing other opinions.

Much depends upon what you are looking for out of the calf.  For us with a virgin the big key is alive, calf and momma.  Since she already has some Angus in there that would be a good way to go.  Otherwise, take a look at some Maine breeding, Gigolo Joe, Ali (if you can get some.  We have had some luck with Lifeline on heifers as well, but they were larger framed than some of the show heifers that people have.

Whatever you choose, Good Luck.

I agree get a live calf for the first go round.  Ive had a lot of luck with Northern Improvement if u wanna go the angus route.  He'll probably help her front end out and as a bonus to a small calf, they grow like weeds.

Great Looking female!

My suggestion would be, and it would also clean up the front
Northern Improvement  makes them pretty and usually they are hairy. Unusual for an angus.
Ali- expensive but the clone is around the corner we hear.

Other easy calvers that would produce a quality mating

There are some really good bulls to breed her to. Most everything mentioned would be good. There are also some good Simmys that would work on a heifer of her calibre. SOS comes to mind,Triple C Invasion too.Dream On shoul;d work. Not knowing whether you want to keep her Simmy influenced or if you want to go another route,Jaycee's Ramblin Fever{Angus} works extremely well on Sim influenced cattle. 3/4 Maine Dirty Harry would be a good option. There are tons of bulls that would be interesting bred to her.

Thanks for all the comments, I'm lookinng at either Ali ( I have some in the tank) or Dream on. Dream on we could show the calf if good enough, in the sim-solution class, of by Ali as a maintainer.
Around here angus breed classes get beat up on in the final drives usally.

wow she is one of the best maximuses i have seen as far as show heifers go.
We use him a bunch but hardly ever get a heifer that is "show worthy"
I would think the Dream On would be a great idea if it was me though i think i would go with Northern Improvement or a calving ease angus bull.
If you are willing to take a little more risk maybe Dirty Hairy or Total Solution

From what you said her percentage is 3/4 AN 1/4 SM...right? If you bred her to Dream On you'd get a 5/8 SM 3/8 AN calf and if the calf if a heifer it would be eligible for the percentage Simmental shows, and Dream On would put a nice front end on the calf and he's a proven calving ease bull. Win win!

I'm also quite partial to Simmentals, so take what I say with a grain of salt.
