What would you flush her too?
« on: June 08, 2014, 08:30:16 PM »
The Cow (P43026433) is sired by Star Bright Future and was named Reserve Grand Champion Heifer at NAILE a few years back. Her past calves who were sired by About Time and are very impressive and have done very well in the show rings, however we wanted to try something different and flushed her to Ribeye 88X. He is the hottest bull in the country and his calves are in extremely high demand. He produced the 600,000, two time national champion MILES MCKEE. We are extremely excited about those eggs and expect great things to come of them (limited amount of those eggs are for sale) ,but we are looking to flush her to a few different bulls. What are some bulls you would try flushing her to? Below is a picture of the cow and two of her heifers sired by About Time 743.

hahaha Thanks, but I think Its always good to get others opinions and see things from their point of view. And as far as flushing clubby, it has crossed my mind a time or two but I think Im going to have to pass for now. ;)

Even though I'm not a hereford person per se,  I've always like the S109 bull, the females I've seen pictures of by him were impressive.  Full Throttle also intrigues me as well.

She is going to be set up to be flushed to Full Throttle in the next couple months actually and we have her daughter (dark Red heifer pictured) bred that way as well. Its the bull after that, that we flush her too that I'm not 100% sure about.

I'm sure there will be some hereford folk who will have some bulls that they have had luck with!

I am not real familiar with Air Force One or Hard Drive. What do you think they add to their offspring? And as far as Wyarno, i had not paid as much attention to him as i should have, up until this past year, I'm not sure what type of cow he work well on?

I'm personally not a fan of Wyarno at all.  They seem to be hard and straight.

I'd think pretty hard about Cracker Jack 26U, Excel 8051, or L18.  Grizzly is kind of an off the wall choice, but we're showing a heifer out of him this summer that is (IMO) fantastic. Our best calves this year are out of 88x, a Cracker Jack son we own with Hoffman, and Tankeray.

I would be very interested in any 88x or About Time embryos you may have on your cow. PM or call/text me (515) 520 1972

I would second the Cracker Jack option or maybe Delhawk Kahuna.

Have you thought about Bailout at all? Also to chime in on the Air Force One cattle; someone gave us a couple straws so we tried him out. We got two calves that were both horrible. Tall, harsh, and straight.

I like Bailout, but probably not for what Mr. Fosbrink is after here.  We showed a Bailout x H Cattle Kate last year and she did very well. But she was a challenge from day one concerning her chest to rib/depth ratio.  She won a few shows early, was 2nd to another Bailout (Brumleys) at Jr. Nationals, and won her division again at the state fair. But every time, if she didn't win, the reason was her extra brisket and leather.  I've not fed very many, but I've yet to see a Bailout with what I would call a great neck or front end.
