A nice sale at Wheatland Simmenatals yesterday. The bulls averaged $9000 with a top of $25,000 to an American buyer. The same American buyer purchased the top selling half blood Simmental X Angus bull at $13,000. They also offered a first time ever " Pick of the cowherd " flush and it brought $40,000. I was unable to attend but will try to get some more information.

Actually two bulls at $25,000 a Wheatland Bull 680S son out of their feature 902J cow selling to Rust Mountain in North Dakota, who also bought the 680S half blood for $13,000, and a maternal brother to 680S brought $25,000 to Diamond M Simmental at Estevan.  The bulls looked tremendous with lots of thickness, depth, and good hair.  The pen of halfbloods were really impressed a person when they walked into the pen.

Thanks for the info, David.  Rust Mountain is an SP member as well. I haven't seen him on here for awhile. He has purchased some pretty good Shorthorns in the past few years as well. I really wanted to get to the sale, but life got in the way, and there ended up not being enough time to get there and see the sale.

Did not know about Rust Mountain having Shorthorns I was aware they also had some Red Angus.  I thought about going around to look at the Sun Country bulls on the way home but it was getting later and had to stop in Weyburn to pick up my mom ended up being after ten when I got back home as it was.

if you ever want to go down and see the Sun Country bulls, let me know and I will try to go down with you. Maybe we could meet in Weyburn and go together.

Rust Mountain, if you're on here how does the dreamchild X red ace calf that you got at CWA last fall look?

Who ended up getting the flush at 40k?

There were a lot of people bidding on the flush for quite awhile in the end they seemed to announce it as selling to "Lazy J" at least that is what myself and some others heard but they gave no address and noone I was talking to knew who it was.
