Hey pigguy - how about you list the bulls name too - that way if we know the bull and we have landline we don't spend hours (OK I am exagerating!) wating for the bull to show up and being jealous of Red for having high speed..

Double Profit - anybody know his PHA status? Last I heard he hadn't been tested...

I actually have seen some pretty cool matings from Sin City and Angus females. He seems to add a little bone, hair and size. Your female looks like she might be finer made. Salute from what i have seen so far, has added quiet a bit of bone and hair. The early calving reports have been larger birthweights than expected. I do not know anything about double profit.
If you go to Sullivan Farms IA and look at their webpage, they do have calves from Salute matings.

I have not had any Salute calves from Angus cows yet but should have a few next spring. I have about 30 Maine XAngus  and purebred Angus cows that we used for recips and for club calves. I  have 6 ET Salute calves here this year and I am very impressed. They looked impressive at birth and have not stopped. Although it is hard to judge a sire from only 6 calves, I am thinking he is going to sire equally impressive males and females. I really cannot tell you if my bulls are better than my females. I change my mind every trip to the pasture. My Salute's all were from 8 to 12 days extra gestation but my calves were from 90 lb to 110 lb and all came unassisted. I was really impressed with how vigourous these calves were at birth. ( Rusty, 4 of my Salutes are out the same donor as the embryos you got.... by the way, did you ever get the missing embryo?)
I have also used Sin City on some Angus and on some Shorts. Both turned out good. The Sin City's may be a little finer made than the Salutes, but they are still good. Here is a picture of an Sin City heifer we showed last fall that was undefeated in class up here.

Pigguy, you might try Fear This on that cow. I think it would work, but watch her close at calving time.

I have heard of some horror stories about Salute's calving ease.  Salute is the more popular of the 2 and is sought after because he is one of the few Sullivan sires that semen is sold to the public on.  Salute is bred to be a female maker.  I like Double Profit better ( I am a long time fan of the Double Stuff lines), just because for a show steer there is more proven predictability in the Double Stuff/Vision lines.  The Double Stuff and Double Vision have been consistently winning for over 10 years now and are sitill going strong.  Maybe if you are seriously considering going shorthorn you should think about going back to one of them.  DV really clicked well with angus cows.
