I am hoping to go, but I will be making a last minute decision depending on the weather and how much hay is ready to be cut and baled. It will be an amazing event. It is being held at Spruce Meadows, one of the premier horse showplaces in the world, and I hear the Canadian Angus Association has budgeted over $2 million to put this event on. There will be lots of history made at this event.
There will be Angus genetics from around the world showcased. There have been Angus breeders from several countries, including, Britain, Denmark and Australia ( and maybe several others) who have been sending embryos to Canada for the past two or three years, so that they can have cattle to show in this show. This could be one of the greatest events to hit this breed for many years... a once in a lifetime event! I will jump on a plane and fly to Calgary if it is at all possible, as I think it will be well worth the $300- $400 for the plane ticket, just to see it in person.
