Labor Day Weekend

Any one going to show over the weekend in Texas?  Looks like it is going to be a little cooler but have not decided where we are going.

We are going to Mckinney Saturday for 4 rings and then Denison Sunday for 4 more rings.

Did you go to Madisonville this past weekend?  How did you do?

Anyone that went to Madisonville on 8-25-07, give me some feedback on the judge in Ring "B" tall slender guy in his early 30's.

We took Grand Shorthorn in all 4 rings.

The judge in Ring B of the morning show did okay. I was confussed by how he placed one class of shorthorns.

We were going to Loy Lake this weekend but didn't make it.  Sorry I missed you folks.  Too much going on with cows calving and getting moved into a new house.  We are going to Wichita Falls on the 16th.

We took 6 Grands in the Shorthorns and took the 2 Grand British Champions on Saturday in McKinney.

on the 16th we will be in Amarillo for the Shorthorn PACE Show.

Will go to the show in Fairfield on the 16th.

Well we have decided to skip the Tri State Fair and head to Navasota on Saturday the 15th and Fairfield on Sunday the 16th. My daughter wants to win the Shorthorn TJLA heifer buckle.

We went to Hallsville this weekend my son's Maine-Anjou heifer took Reserve Breed Champion, he was excited!  She is a 1-3-07 and started to get her hair back not bad for a economy priced girl.  Good luck to all at your shows, we will take a break until October, our Fall County Fair is then.  We will show our heifers, goats and broilers there.  I am ready to be done with the goats and broilers.

Ohio B had a good week at our county fair w/ his nieces & nephews showing. Believe they got a first place in their class w/ a steer. They also had Grand Champion Feeder w/ their Gizmo x Direct Hit heifer. Good job to that group!

What are you bringing to Fairfield?

I know we will take one Simmental (1/07) and one or two Maines a 12/05 and a 8/06.  The 12/05 will go and the other one is still not feeling great but is going to be cooler so she may go also.

We went to a new show down here Labor Day weekend with 6 calves and won 4 classes but nothing in the final drives.

because of the heat we decided to skip the Fairfield TX show. We did 4 rings in Navasota on Saturday and went home.

We went and was pretty good show- less cows than normal so it was done by noon - good thing because it was getting hot.  Not sure what will be the next one, Maines show at the State Fair on the 7th and then the Simmentals on the 18 and 1 so that will be the next shows.  Maybe it will be a little cooler after the fair and we can hit the road more.
