The best thing I have found to fight fungus is a product called Envirosep. It is a disinfectant spray for human use. Have used it in goats and it works wonders. As far as feeding goes the best product I have found to put cover on an animal quickly is the purina supplement Powerfuel. It is a...
He was a son of no fault and out of a fullblood boer doe. He did really good around at local fairs. Took home a few championships. But at our state fair he was lower in his class around 7th I think. As he grew he got taller and narrowed up over his top. He didn't stay as stout as we anticipated.
I agree with what shorty breeder said about his weight. I don't think you will have a problem whatsoever with him making that in the time period that you have. As far as the flank goes we feed beet pulp to our show calves to get them to drop in their flank as well as fill out through their flank...
I think she is pretty nice. She is very square. I like her style and levelness. From the looks of her now I say market, but with age and time that may change. The only downfall I find is she doesn't have a lot of hair, and where I come from they will send you to the bottom of the class for it...
I use Lister Stars. These are my personal favorite. With these I use a covercote or fine cut blade. It really depends on how close you like them cut. I have also seen some people using premiers that love them. It is really just personal preference.
From what I can see it looks like he throws some nice looking calves. Its hard to rate the bull without knowing his EPDs also. But judging just by looks, he seems to be a pretty nice bull. He is long as a train. And has muscling to burn (clapping)
Overall I really like her. She is very feminine in her lines and very deep from a side profile. If I did have to point out one thing I didn't like it would be that she cuts up in her flank area a little higher than I like. But I really like her as a whole. (clapping)
Out of the two cattle prospects the heifer is my favorite by far. But in my opinion it looks like she is at a later state in her maturity than the steer. Once that steer comes along and puts some finish on he might be pretty good. I really like the Hamp wether. He has plenty of length of hind...
I will agree with the fact that D. Ultimate is loose in his shoulders. However he is my favorite. I think he could use a little more length as stated before, but put on the right cows I think he will make some great calves. In my opinion he is the most shapely and expressive in his rear 1/3 and...
Wow what a powerhouse of a front end he has! He looks to be very stout through his front 1/3. I think he could be a little more powerful in his rear if I was to get nit picky, but overall I think he is a good looking calf! <rock>
I would have to agree. I think in the first pictures she has tons of muscle definition in her rear end from what I can tell. In her most recent picture she doesn't appear quite as muscled through her rump and looks to have matured to a bigger framed, longer made heifer. But as stated before she...
Wow, he is huge! He almost reminds me of a piedmontese, what with them being double muscled. I think he is beautiful and a great example of what bulls should look like! (clapping)
