I wish the Angus breed and breeders could find middle ground. The low birth weight cattle are light muscled and many of the show Angus sires have enough bone, muscle and rib but need to milk better. Its hard to have it all.
I was wondering if any members have either seen or calved out any calves by these two bulls. I have calved out three calves out of Rainfall. I like the calves but I haven't seem any calves out of Raindance. I appreciate and look forward to your comments.
I don't have a picture but a have a September halfblood bull out of an angus cow. The calf weighed in low 70s and is doing good. I just wish he was a baldy or blaze. I can get more money out of a white faced calf.
Which one of these bulls has been the most consistent. I was thinking about using one of these two bulls on some Simmy Maine Cross heifers. Just trying to make breeding decisions.
I haven't leased any land for pasture in thirty years. What is a reasonable rate to pay to lease a small farm to put 15 cows and calves? Thanks for your input.
I have a Broker half blood bull out of a bismark Angus cow that I bred myself thas sired eight calves so far that have been ok on birthweights. I think Broker is the best Simmental bull for show cattle but I will not use him again due to ced, bw, api and ti.
Three out of the four calves were good. One bull calf I that I made a steer was champion feeder steer at our state show. One bull out of a chopper half-blood simmental cow made a good show bull and sold him to my neighbor that I partner with on some things. I kept one heifer that is a...
I'm sure he is homozygous polled and I have had four calves by him. I think he will work on most heifers as long as the heifer doesn't have birth weight issues.
