Hey everyone.  First time I have had a chance to get online for while.  Thanks for all the responses. I didn't think about Canadian bulls.  Is it hard to get one across the border.  By the way I'm located in Virginia. 

Thinking about getting a shorthorn bull to clean up after ai.  Are there any sales where you can find non showy type bulls.  Looking for good functional type that will put the pounds on calves.

It's been several years since I flushed any cows.  If I remember right the donor is given shots for about five or so days. some days are given twice a day. The last cow I did got knots everywhere from all the shots. Is it common for all donors to get this many shots. Is there anyway to not have...

I have real nice frisky heifer this year I was thinking about keeping.  He really fixed a lot of problems in the dam. Her dam is not greatest milker out there. So my question is are there any frisky calves that milk well or are they poor Milkers  like a lot of clubbies.

Thanks.  I should have re worded my question.  The BW numbers dont mind me as bad a having large shoulders and heads to calves.  That makes a big difference. 

What are birth weights running on primo when bred to clubby type cattle.  Have a believe in me x shorthorn Second calf hfr I'm gonna be consigning to a sale later on.  His numbers aren't best best for CE but they aren't always reliable either.  Thanks.

Does these do well on simmy to make half bloods or better to keep him on angus.  What type and kind does he click with.  Don't have a lot of straws so want to make them count.  Thanks

Thanks guys for all the great options.  Mark i never considered a shorthorn but the jazz bloodlines would be a good option and give a little maternal value to any heifer offspring as well. 

Some of our heifers we kept back have I-80 either as either sire or grand sire on either side of pedigree.  A lot the popular calving ease clubby bulls also have I-80 bloodlines.  What is everybody using on their hfrs that wont be to close related.  A couple heifers i plan to sell as breds so...

I bought a bunch of angus semen that came with the tank i bought.  I have codes but not the official bull name on some of them.  Can any of the angus guys figure out who these semen codes belong to.  Ill give the code and what was written along with it when i bought it.  Thanks in advance...
