    RB EAGLE 239th

We bought 239 from Dale Rocker. We used him for several years and had a great set of females out of him. We also sold a lot of sons. He was a milk trait leader for a while and could really improve udders. We also used his sire, 148. All of the 148 line were muscle makers. Birth weight could be...

Who are these two shorthorn bulls

Correct Garybob.  Bottom bull is definitely a Brentwood bull. Picture was used in some shorthorn promotional literature in the 90's. I think Ingress sold in the Iowa Beef Expo. Out of Rodeo Inovator. There's a history lesson for folks.

    front man calves?

We have had 10 out of Simmental and SimAngus heifers.  62-84 lbs. I would agree with all the talk about vigor.  I know it's been warm, but those calves get up and go in a hurry.  He worked great for us.

Shorthorn calving ease issues or not?

The most recent across-breed EPD table has been released by USMARC.  I would encourage you to take a look as it is a pretty good measure that is used by a lot of commercial cattlemen to compare breeds.  Shorthorns certainly have a lot of positives on the chart, but birth weight is not one of...

    Recommedations Please...Electric Fence Chargers

We have both Gallagher and Parmak solar chargers.  The Parmak is hands down the best.  Much hotter and we have had no maintenance with them.  The Gallagher's seem to quit working after about two years and need a part that costs about $50.  Parmak will fix them forever for free if you get it to...

    Asterisk free shorthorn

Well I have hesitated to comment, but this thread intrigues me.  A lot of threads on this board concentrate on particular merits of cattle that make them easier to market or claim a higher than market value.  Example:  hair, bone, sire, etc.  I think asterisk free cattle have merit in marketing...
