Lowline genetics - % and fullbloods

Lowline genetics - % and fullbloods We have show heifer prospects, bred fall calving heifers and a few young cows with spring calves for sale. A bull or two from time to time. Most of these Lowline influence cattle are either 1/2 bloods or 3/4 bloods. Most of the calves are either 3/4 bloods or...

    Lowline Steer

Nice looking Lowline steer and about where he should be I would guess. Our 3/4 blood is an late March and weighing right at 950 right now and is about one bite of feed away from being ready to put into packages. Keep up the good work. It looks like the little guy is having a good time.

    Show Ring Bling????

ME BAD! I guess I will be a man about this and say I am sorry. I guess I have piled all the blinged up ones into one pile. SORRY, Yes, I realize there are those of you out there that do work and have all it takes, maybe it is those that have the strong thumb muscles that have given me that...

    Show Ring Bling????

I know better than chime in on this anymore but! You know RTMCC, if Bodie would come into the ring with me judging, or Caroline as far as that goes and had some scuff on his freshly starched jeans and a little grime on him, it would give him more points with me than some of these blinged up...

    Show Ring Bling????

I agree fully with rtmcc on all this. Not sure what all this is about comparing horse people to cattle people. If we are going to do that, maybe go watch a high profile dog show someday. There you go, get a lap dog and you can show it for several years! Anyway, here it goes. As just an older...

    Words of advice

I had a heifer step on a comb years ago, this would be before the sharp ones that we know now! She did this in Kansas City, never limped or bothered her what so ever. She went to Louisville and then when we were trimming feet for Denver and sparks flew when the grinder hit her. You could see the...

    Item gone

Ya' know, over the years we have heard about this sort of thing happening all over. I have come up short a neck rope now and again and combs, that is maybe the kids leaving them lay around at other stalls, BUT a double blower is another thing. I would be livid at the best and it doesn't mater if...

    BAZINGA! Iowa Beef Expo

We saw him up there when we were there during breeding cattle portion of the Expo. Impressed with the bull.

    Mini Herfs?

Little herfs are cute but also a great project for kids, the meat industry and the smaller acreage places. The little thing seems like no flash in the pan thing either. We jumped into the Lowline thing some time ago and love it. Some folks that visit here can't pick out the half bloods from the...
