all time best steer jock dick maier passed away

Sorry to hear about this. My prayers for the family. The most memorable steer I ever saw was shown by his family. It was a red baldy, simmy and limi cross. It won the Iowa state fair. Not sure what year, but he sure was a good one. Fond memory.

Will this bull make it as a Calf Club Bull ?

Is this what judges have in mind when they mention power?

    Sickle Hocked

In this day and age, I would consider having a little set to the hocks as a plus. Nearly all of the bulls that are considered good clubby bulls, and even many purebreds are a little too straight. If your heifer has a little set to her hocks, you have a lot more breeding options than the person...

    guard donkeys

I have sold many donkeys over the years, some for halter breaking and some as gaurd donkeys. I think I can say that all of themwork to some extent, some are just better than others. Most people prefer jennies over jacks or geldings. Some of the males can be too agressive. It is more likely that...

I'm not saying he is the best, but I like the pedigree of Eye Opener. Is there a chance that anyone on this board has used him?

Calf with stiff knees in womb wouldn't come out correct?

This sounds much like a genetic defect in charolais cattle in the 70's. It was called Orthrogryposis, and I'm sure that I didn't spell it rigt. Back then the Char assn. worked very hard to isolate and eliminate the defect. To have one delivered was very difficult, and I don't recall any of them...

    Best Cow Lines??

I try to stay a distance from the Who Made Who lines, due to structure problems, however I will agree that his good daughters are some of the club calf deals best mothers. We have daughters of Ali, Lifeline, Maine Break and AfterShock that are doing a good job. I know that there are many others...

    Angus Bull question

Freddy and Aussie, I respect and appreciate  your comments. Freddy, would you tell me what you meant about disposition  of the Net Worth cattle ? Thanks to both of you, and what about SAV Bismark ?

    Angus Bull question

The goal in mind is to produce a bull good enough to improve a commercial herd.

    Angus Bull question

I know that this is a redundant question, but I am looking for an angus bull that has a combination of good looks and above average growth. Would SAV Net Worth serve this purpose, or does a bull like Rodman have enough grow ? What would you guys reccomend ?

    Bull Advice

Go back and read aandtcattle's post, then read it again, he says everything that needs saying. I wish that I could have read what he posted many years ago, I'm sure I would have sold a bunch more cattle over the years. His advice is solid.

    Jack Frost

I am starting to see some promotional bulls with Jack Frost in their background. Does anyone know what he was?
