Sorry to hear about this. My prayers for the family. The most memorable steer I ever saw was shown by his family. It was a red baldy, simmy and limi cross. It won the Iowa state fair. Not sure what year, but he sure was a good one. Fond memory.

In this day and age, I would consider having a little set to the hocks as a plus. Nearly all of the bulls that are considered good clubby bulls, and even many purebreds are a little too straight. If your heifer has a little set to her hocks, you have a lot more breeding options than the person...

This sounds much like a genetic defect in charolais cattle in the 70's. It was called Orthrogryposis, and I'm sure that I didn't spell it rigt. Back then the Char assn. worked very hard to isolate and eliminate the defect. To have one delivered was very difficult, and I don't recall any of them...

I know that this is a redundant question, but I am looking for an angus bull that has a combination of good looks and above average growth. Would SAV Net Worth serve this purpose, or does a bull like Rodman have enough grow ? What would you guys reccomend ?

      Go back and read aandtcattle's post, then read it again, he says everything that needs saying. I wish that I could have read what he posted many years ago, I'm sure I would have sold a bunch more cattle over the years. His advice is solid.
