    Butchering Question

That's why we slaughter in the winter.  We kill, bleed out, skin and remove head then gut as it is lifted up by a tractor.  Roll the guts right into the skidsteer bucket.  Then split carcass...for the cooler we used we had split where we ribbed it too...I really enjoy butchering, but I guess...

Fun at the Arkansas Oklahoma State Fair

Is that a Moore heifer?  I feel like I saw that pic on their site/Facebook.  She's pretty nice!

    Worth buying a blower?

I don't think there are showing teams at any big college.  The ones that have purebred units(that show) have the workers at the units showing or the unit manager.

    Miniature Herefords

LLBUX...those were the people I had contacted.  Trumbull Prairie Ranch I believe.  Seemed very nice on the phone, just was too big of an investment for me at the time.  I went sheep instead and working on breeding to create a couple % Lowlines.

    Clippers

I have a set of premier Hairheads that I use on my lambs and have used a couple times on calves.  I love them things!  They are very balanced making them easy for me to manuver and do a good job with.  Some people think they are kind of loud, but I don't really see them as any  louder than any...

    Miniature Herefords

I don't know about your area, but 4 years ago when I looked at getting a heifer the farm nearest me wanted 2000 starting price for the bottom calves.  Never went and looked at em but he said I'd be hard pressed to find one under $1500.  Just saying...lowlines are about the same too

    Girls working cows

That's about the one thing I don't do! But, the last catalog I saw, the "better" ones were 30-50...maybe a few higher.  Not too bad in the whole scheme of things!  I rode in a 12" show saddle until I was 16...mainly because I have a little bum and I couldn't afford a decent one when I was...

    Boots

I didn't like square toed for the longest time either, but it has grown on me and I have a pair now.  I like the Justin gypsy, but I get the male vibe on this shopping trip.  I don't remember if it was rods or smith brothers, but one of them had a bunch of boots on sale and close out...quality...

    rebreaking an old show heifer...

Heck, I pulled my cow out of the pasture and led her around in an attempt to help break her calf, then walked her to the feeder, jumped on her back and we went for a short little ride around the pen...after over a year of not being ridden and minimal leading

    Conception rates in this heat?

How do they sex them?  Just curious.  I'm going to get my cow checked again to make sure.

    Girls working cows

Be thankful they just want to rope right now...they could want to be doing all around events at shows like me.  Western show saddle, barrel saddle, training saddle, English saddle, a gazillion bridles and bits, a set of English clothes, multiple sets of western clothes, 3 different hats, 3...

    Boots

I like Justin.  Last pair of ariats I had fell apart quickly...granted I use and abuse em pretty hard.  Just tore my first pair of Justins in a while up.  The stitching over the foot came undone.  That's after 2.5 years of almost daily wear...to school, to ride, to show, to do chores, to break...

20' Featherlite stock trailer stolen from FFA Ag Farm - Houston, Texas

So sorry to hear!  I'm sure if you call up some local farmers and the other members who have their own equipment, you can get a trailer to get them all there!  Find that thing!  Craigslist is a good one!

This is my cheap steer. Opinions?

Good deal!  I sold a much smaller calf at $725 ish this spring at an auction...he looks like he'd do really good carcass to me too!  Yeah, he's got some extra flab up front, but you can look at it as having more brisket to eat :)  hehe I love me some brisket.
