    F-350 6.4L Powerstroke - N/C

So my husband is looking at getting a 2010 F-350 6.4L powerstroke and we were wondering if anyone is using one currently and what they thought of them.  Most importantly, what kind of mileage are you getting while towing?  Currently our 2009 V10 is getting about 10-11 day to day driving and oh...

    Great Lunch Break!

Went home from my "real" job to eat lunch today, and found my old cow starting to calve.  Wasn't sure if I was going to have to leave her and go back to work or if I should stay home and watch- she is a '98 model so I've been a little nervous about her.  But in less than 15 minutes she had a...

    Strange Cattle Deaths

Numerous years ago, we killed a new two year old bull with an electric iron.  The electricity didn't kill him, but for some reason he was unable to move and we had to be cut the squeeze chute and use the tractor to get him out.  At first we had no idea what had happened, and then soon found that...

NC: "At least someone enjoys the Snow! Corgie Picture!

That's funny because I was going to say I am all too familiar with the snow balls as I have schnauzers. When they get real bad, I just bring them in a put them straight in to the wash tub.

    Trip Suggestions

Any recommendations for shows or livestock related events happening anytime between March 20-28, 2010?  My husband & I didn't really plan our wedding date too well when we got married while in Vegas for the NFR last year, so this year between work and the animals were not able to pack up and go...

    Is This Monkey Mouth?

One of my new In Focus X Luckyman SimAngus calves appears to have an underbite, and from what I've read/heard it might be monkey mouth.  (See Attached) Her sister with the same breeding, born the same day infact, has a perfectly normal mouth.  I haven't opened the calf's mouth to see what's...

N/C: Shooting at Fort Hood, TX! Terrible Tragedy!

I hate that he can not even look to the crowd when sending his thoughts and prayers to those involved.  It means little if it has to be read.  I can say, without having to have a prepared speech, that this was an unimaginable event, and as I think of my brother stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC in...

    signs of hardware disease?

Magnets are great but won't get rid of aluminum. I lost a heifer two years ago from a pop can tab. I treated her multiple times with antibiotics and put a magnet down her but lost her fairly quickly. We posted her and found the pop tab - still have it as a reminder to keep the garbage picked up...

LaMar Roche Club Calf Sale 10-17,2009-Until all R gone (Load and Go) IDAHO

Is anyone planning to attend?  Although I have no need for a calf right now, I thought it might be fun to take a day trip from Oregon and have a look.  Last year at Eastern Oregon Livestock Show I fell in love with Linnel's steer the moment I walked in the barn, I had no idea where he came from...

    Simmi Breeder Questions

I have two first calf Lucky Man (simmangus) heifers that are bred for November In Focus calves right now.  They are very broody girls!  Definitely not the fanciest in terms of show ring eye appeal but I have some high hopes for these ladies in my herd.  They are very easy fleshing; perhaps too...

    Best steak

Well I'm most partial to a Simm/Angus but I say as long as it's home grown (with at least a little Simmy in the background ;)) the breed is far from the most important thing!

    GAY MARRIAGE IN IOWA

The part about this post that bothers me the most is the comment "Are their that many sickoes in iowa."  I wasn't going to say anything, but I just can't not.  My husband and I's very best friends are a gay couple.  These men are very successful business men -- In the agricultural industry...
