    Using dairy cows as Recips

    A lot of years ago, we used holstiens,  since they all calves about the same time, we doubled the calves up and sold 1 cow to a dairy.  I would guess that might not be as viable now but we didn't have to milk cows out.

    In their day both served their purpose.  Have to remember, at  that  time,  cow prices at an all time low, wasn't much of a way to hang on and the frame 10's came along,  kept a bunch of cow people from going t**s up,  let us hang on till things got better.
