    Grower-Finish or Finish-Grower?

just as it sounds... you in almost every case- start with grower, as you want your calves to grow... then you switch to finisher- when you get close to end point.

What color would you call this calf?

To explain: Head has all three brown, black, and red. Topline has grey sprinkled to appear "dirty".  Sire is the black bull- Dr. Feelgood x Lutton. Dam is a half sister, from my best cow, purebred.  65 lb BW

    Champion Shorthorn Plus bull NWSS

In 5 years, will anyone know if there was 2 or 200 in the show?  I think they only thing is they'll know where the banner hangs. Look at it this way, if AJ's bull had not been there, the blue bull would have won-- and so theoretically, AJ beat a National Champion bull.

    Club Calf female sire

I believe semen only for auction?

that way A- it brings the most money, and B- it only gets bred to the elite brood cows of the country with flushes-- which better allows for superior calves to be born...  down the road= that allows for open market distribution to everyone else.

    Roanoke Flashback

Depends, Joe would not tell me to use, or not to use on heifers.  He did not believe the CE and BW EPDs, and said that flashback himself was bigger BW, and bred more BW on than his other bulls did, or had-- yet his EPDs were more heifer oriented.  I think you're right.  When I saw him, he was...

What does the word 'steer' mean?

That's what I thought...  I don't remember reading the word 'show' in there.. What's that mean, I suppose this site is open to anyone involved in cattle...  Perhaps, maybe even the cattle enthusiast.  Thanks Frosty, I knew I could count on you...

    Roanoke Flashback

He didn't..  he was sent to town.  I drug my feet too long with getting him bought due to the house moving, and new farm purchase.  I should have been in better contact with Joe- didn't think he was that serious about getting him gone that quick- atleast he wasn't last I talked with him in...
