    Stain remover

By far oxyclean liquid was our favorite.  And by staying on the stains (Knees and rump) from laying down ahead of time really pays off.  We used bright whites at the show in addition to the oxyclean.  My son's steer two years ago was really white.  Pic in my avatar

    Simmi observation

For a couple years now I sound like a broken records on what Simmi bull to use on heifers.  My hands down favorite is Ebony's Grandmaster. Easy calving, running around in minutes, easy dispositions and great mama's once grown. I notice the Champ bull from Denver, TNGL Grand Fortune 2467 - sired...

Which ANGUS for PB Char heifer sired by Firewater?

I was really hoping Tyler from Mill Iron A livestock would pipe in on this thread.  I think he is one of the masters in crossing Char influenced cows to Angus.  He uses Red Angus bulls and lately has been using a red angus bull named TJS Dinero Z012 registration #1555558.  Calves are crazy...

Talk to user name WAR on this site.  From past posts he probably knows more about the bull than anyone.

    Check out the auction page

Just looked at the JS Club Calf Online Exclusive sale here on the Steeplanet auction tab.  There are some really nice steers that someone possibly could pick up for a great price.  One day left of bidding.  I like lot #1 and #3 a lot.

Wanted: (April or May 2014) Smoke, yellow, or silver steer

Looking for a smoke, yellow, white, or silver steer for our Labor Day fair 2015.  April or May calves seem to work out the best.  Does not have to be clubby, but needs to be moderate and wide topped.  Located in SE Oregon. Thanks Ryan

    Hereford Bulls

My vote is Boyd's Worldwide.  low BW's, deep red color, and adds mass.

    County Fair pics!

Appreciate the comments. Kids are already in the hunt for next years' steers.  I love to see them want to better the year before.  At this point I think my daughter will be taking another simmy based steer this year sired by Chopper.  My son desperately wants to take another yellow calf from...

    County Fair pics!

Here is a pic if my daughters steer. NLC Upgrade out of a Powerdrive cow. Pic was a week before fair. Awesome powerful steer that averaged 4.15 ADG. Had a 17.46 in rib eye. But was 1550 at weigh in.

    How big is to big

This was a hot topic at our fair this year.  Historically the 1350-1400 pounders always win.  But this year a 1285 won grand and my son's 1250 won reserve.  My daughter had a Purebred Simmy that weighed in at 1550 and per ultrasound had a 17.46 in rib eye.  The judge dinged her for being too big...

    County Fair pics!

Well for the second year in a row, my son (now 13) has won Reserve Grand Champ market steer.  We had a field of about 50 steers this year.  He was a late May calf that we got from Mill Iron A livestock in (Wyoming & Idaho).  I believe his dam is Red Angus and Sire was Key's Tenacious a Charolais...

    Proud of my kids!

Hey Mntman, those clubby/hereford cross calves looked great.  Just curious on the Two Tone, did the nice hereford Mama settle him down?  We had a Two Tone, and a friend had three others that were sooooo mean, wild eyed, kicking, take you out Mexican Bull fighting style, we had to get rid of all...

What bull do I breed to this heifer?

I think Gargan hit the nail on the head.  For safe calving, hearty, healthy calf Grandmaster hands down.  If you want calving ease buy "maybe" get a little more depth Uno Mas.

Awesome.  That would have been my first pick on her.  Love, love, love our grandmasters.

    Another Feed Program Question...

So we are wanting to look into Sure Champ next year.  Just curious can someone give me a rough estimate on cost per head per month if you use it like you are suppose to? We have been using Diamond V yeast products for years.  A $30 bag goes a long way.

Nice heifer.  Definitely has length of body on her.  How is she bred?  How do you plan on breeding her?

    Jr. Rodeo pic

Thought this was a cool pic of my 11 yr old girl at our local jr. Rodeo last weekend.  She was the only girl in the steer riding ages 11-13. She didnt win but showed up most if the boys.
