    Something killing calves

Here in SE Oregon when I get a damage complaint (Lets say cougar) the "victim" has to clearly tell Fish and Wildlife they had livestock damage.  If the cougar ate their cat or their jack russell they don't count it as damage.  In our small community, most people have learned to tell F&W, "A...

    Something killing calves

Hamburgerman, I have not dealt with any wild dog pack to speak of, just the few mutts here and there that all of the meth heads have dumped out in the woods or desert when they cant afford to feed them.  The few running around together are usually quickly dispatched by local ranchers.  We are so...

    NLC Upgrade bull calf

Thanks!  Finally got a pic of him while he was peeing. Tyler, I want to use Tenacious on this cow for next years calf.  This was only her second calf and both have been darn good. I think she going to be one of our top producers at this rate.

    Something killing calves

Not a bobcat, nothing about the description even remotely sounds like thier kills.  They like a lion, always go for upper chest area guts (heart, lungs) first.  They never eat the butt hole out until very, very last if at all.  And in 20+ years as a state trapper, have never had a bobcat kill a...

    Posting Pics from Android help

For crying out loud.  I always see people posting pics saying "sorry they are off my smart phone". So someone has to be able to throw some advice?  I swear someone posted a how to session in the past year or two but I'm not finding it.

    Something killing calves

As a government trapper I have some ideas.  I agree to actually skin the neck out and see if there are fang marks and give me the info. Another question.  Did the calves have their eyes still in tack?  I'm going to pass on a very important piece of info to all cattlemen and I'm currently...

    Limousine Bull Needed

I AM NOT a limmy guy.  But some good friends of mine are.  They have done a bunch of winning in the limmy world with a bull named NASCAR???

    American Pride

Firesweep, a well rounded simmi friend of mine said to stay away from him completely.  You have some awesome foundation cows / hefiers at your place and there are a ton of other bulls I would look at before him.  Right now the Uno Mas, and Combustible calves I have seen are leading the pack. ...

Walks Alone Calving help - updated with pics

So as I mentioned the Walks Alone heifer came 12 days late.  I posted that she weighed 105 pounds. I was out of town and I thought my father in law and vet actually weighed her, but they didn't.  They just guessed.  I hate to say it, but I think she was a little more than that.  But alive!  Cow...

Walks Alone Calving help - updated with pics

CDL good info thanks.  Talked to another buddy of mine today who had one WA go 17 days late with a 105 pound calf.  We are wrapping up day 9 overdue tonight.  Moving her to different pen so neighbor can check for me while I have to leave town tomorrow through the weekend.  I might not be able to...

Walks Alone Calving help - updated with pics

Thats funny. I keep telling my wife, "She's going to calve today!" and nothing happens.  I'm going to start my day tomorrow saying, "She's got 3 more days or so" and maybe she will calve :) I seriously have to leave town on Thurs for work so I'll bet you money she will calve on Thursday morning.
