Thanks everyone. Good info.  She is scheduled to calve on May 10th.  Was hoping to get her bred ASAP after calving to get her close to the rest of the girls. 

I had a cow last year that took a couple rounds of AI'ing to get her bred now she is "off" from the rest of the herd.  How soon after calving is it safe to try AI'ing.  I guess AI'ing or bull does not matter. 

Please some pics! I'm glad to hear the reports.  I know there were a lot of concerns about his feet. 

So what are the reports / opinions on MAB females and retaining any of them?  I don't have any coming this spring but bought several straws to put in this year.  Can't wait.

Good info!  Just another piece of evidence for me that he could be a new great option in simmi calving ease.  How do you like the calf?  What was the cross again?

Asked my friend who used him a lot last year and he said for the most part all calving was "normal".  But overall I like what I see so far.  Easy calving, small vigorous calves.  I have several Grandmaster heifers bred to him. My friend has a couple and they are really good. 

Is he hiefer safe?

I guess ultimately we would like to get a good county fair steer.  We are not big show folks and are too far away from most jackpots.  But a live calf is priority.

Mark I can't find Ohldes Blue Moon on SEK.  Im a computer idiot.  Looking heavy at chiller for this heifer, but remember blue moon a year or two ago.  He was cool for sure.

P.S. daughter would like roan or color if possible.  So what about Touchdown, Chiller or Capiche?  This dad knows we need a live calf, but I want to try and make her owner (a very strong willed 11 year old) happy if possible.  Any help is appreciated.

Rocky Hill, Grandmaster is super easy calving.  I had super fat cows all full term and not one problem.  Most calves in the 65-75 pound range.  Up and running before mom could even clean the bag off of them.  I can't wait to breed my grandmaster heifers to Uno Mas.  We need to stay in touch...

One of my simmental friends had tremendous luck with Grandmaster heifers bred to Uno Mas.  Some of the better calves he said he has ever had.  So if you are looking for calving ease don't count out Grandmaster.  I've never had such a easy calving year as I did last year calving...
