what would you flush her to?

Simmy I would go Grandmaster or Upgrade to get out of the Dream On influence and get some great females.  Also would consider Sheriff Taylor for something older school. Clubby I would go MAB or Salty Dog

    Uno Mas

I'm going to run him on all of my 1/2 blood heifers this year.  Most of the heifers are Grandmasters.  A good friend of mine was very, very happy with not only the calving ease, but growth.  Some of his best calves this year were Grandmasters bred to Uno Mas.  I'm trying to get some pics to post.

Take aways from 2014 NWSS fat steer show

From Bull Barn Genetics page The Colonel: In 2005, we took Chance's last show steer to Kansas City with high hopes. Unfortunately, Tiffany Pruitt brought a Heat Wave steer that dominated our class and looked to us to be Grand Champion caliber. We purchased the steer through the sale that night...

Take aways from 2014 NWSS fat steer show

Per an old threat on Steerplanet: "Phil Lautner says: GC: Colonel was a clone to a steer that Mike Trienen raised"

    Help with some Angus bulls

Thanks I appreciate any comments I can get.  A good friend of mine tried him and likes them, especially their disposition.

    Help with some Angus bulls

I've been looking at some new Angus blood this year and have been hearing good things about these two bulls. Both calving ease and docility. Coleman Regis 904 and Coleman Foundation 972.  Has anyone used them and what are the reports?

Walks Alone and Believe in Me calf temperament

Parker, As mentioned earlier, our Two Tone is not so nice temperment wise.  He use to actually lower his head and take after us like a Mexican fighting bull. Kick you whenever he can, etc. Hardest breaking steer, heck cow in general we have ever had.  I have a friend who has been helping a...

Walks Alone and Believe in Me calf temperament

Great, my little girl has her best cow bred to WA due in April.  I hope the mother's docility will carry over and help out.  After this darn Two Tone calf she has this year (horrible, nasty, disposition) I doubt she wants another one. Not to pirate the post, but is there any reports on the MAB...

    help with eye problem

Thanks everyone.  Just have to find a minute to get him in a chute and really look.  I worked on one of the heifers last night.  It amazes me how a cow can damn near suck their eye ball half way inside of their head when you are trying to work on one.  I hope it has not gone far enough to scar...

    help with eye problem

So I have two calves who currently are presenting similar symptoms as Pink Eye.  My vet says it happens a lot in winter months when feeding hay especially out of feeders. But it's trauma, not Pink Eye.  Heads bumping into each other, hay particles, poking, etc.  So one steer actually has a...

Looks like we have a predator in our midst!!

So I'm the State Trapper for my county and also the Lion damage control agent.  I run hounds and most of my lion work is in the snow.  After zooming in on the pic, Although not positive due to pic quality, I'm pretty sure you have a large dog traveling through, like black lab or bigger.  You...

    Hey Simmi folks

I've been pondering this for a couple years now.  I acquired a semen tank from a long time family friend who use to dabble in Simmi blood a few years back.  I've got 4 straws of Dream On semen that were in it to my surprise.  We have been breeding some of our angus and angus/hereford cross...

    Charolais Cows

One bull that did not pop up on this conversation was LT Bluegrass?  What about him?  I know Ledger was mentioned who is his son right?

    Albers feed?

Frequent flyers of this site have heard me whine about how hard it is to get feed in my very remote location in SE Oregon.  Our one and only feed store told me yesterday that they are going to start carrying Albers feed.  After looking at their site they really only have one or two cattle type...

Wanting more info on Jake's Blue Moon

It's funny someone posted this question because I was wondering what happened to him and was thinking about him.  I posted a question about him a year or two ago.  I can't seem to find his semen either.  Maybe I'm not searching their sites correctly.  There were some cool pics of him in older posts.

    Two Tone steer (updated pics)

So if you get ahold of this steer he will actually lead "fairly" well.  Its just getting around him.  Can brush and touch him all over on his left side, but you can't even get close to his right side.  If tied up he will flop over on his back, kick, lower his head and butt if you get close to...

    Two Tone steer (updated pics)

Finally I think I got some bigger pics to take.  I'm telling you this steer is wearing us out.  Work with him for hours and the next day it's like we started all over again.  We have until Mid April to figure out if we are going to use him for fair or not.  Unfortunately he now has my little...
