I never said that.  The quality is tremendous with some of the most infuential cows in the country in there.  I'm just not a big fan of buying eggs unless they are cheap is all...  There will be no cheap ones cuz at a deal like that there will be enough drunk people in the crowd that will bid on...

Stuff brings way too much there for me...  I've bought calves for 1800 that were full sibs to eggs on that sale that brought 2500/egg... 

He will stouten them up and frame them up a little bit.  They can get kinda course if you breed him to something too stout.  Don't breed him to anything with too long of a spine either.  They will get too extended and kinda fall apart.

As far getting the general public more involed.  One thing I try to do when at county fair is that when the town/city people are walking through the barns with the little kids is I always say hi and ask the kids if they want to pet a calf or just touch it or whatever.  You would be amazed at the...

I would be a fan of a claiming show.  Not saying every show should be a claiming show, just like not every race is a claiming race.  I think a good idea would be a claiming show in fall the before the calves up north have to be checked in.  And then some other ones sprinkled out throughout the...

I really like the claiming idea...   A steer class with a say $1500 claiming rule.  Have the purse be around $1000.  $50 entry fee.  You have to claim before the class is placed.  Now that would be fun.    

I think more emphasis could be placed on a carcass/performance beef show.  There a lot fewer barriers to entry to be competitive and there are a lot more parents/mentors that know how to feed a feedlot steer than know how to get a club calf to 12 oclock.   It would be a show put emphasis on...

I met a red Angus breeder two years ago that had a cow he was flushing that was an 88 model and she had never not had a calf.  He was keeping her open to try and get as many eggs as he could before she went to the pasture in the sky.

A guy i know was working cows on one of those real cold days about a month or so ago.  A cow had lost her tag and he went to put another one in and the ear broke off.....

Wow that sounds kinda stout to me.  The going rate for haired cattled up here is from 50 to $100 depending on the amount of time and level of skill you want in a clipper.
