IMO, a late calf is better then no calf, I had two heifiers that way last year, to leave them open and feed them for another year and get no return on them is not a wise idea, feed cost are just to high right now. Do agree with jbzdad.

I think it's wrong also for the pro's to fit a junior's animal, I agree with Angusboy, with the Ak-sar-ben rules. We have two counties I can think of right know in Wisconsin, that only the kid can touch the animal with help from their parents and other kids no one else can touch that animal. 

We have been feeding something very similar,the only differance is the oats. Been adding a.littl more corn and cotten hulls Been very happy with this ration.
