3days before show and steer has runny/loose stool what works best?

I agree, but don't limit water if giving them, and Probias a day after to start the guts bugs again.

    Two Ring Shows

I have always had prizes awarded from both rings. If I pay the entry fee I want a shot at winning something back from both. I have seen widely different placing's in rings and just picking one ring to pay out dose not seem a good option. In the magazines I see a overall for both rings all the...

    Old Cows

I have already done this to get replacements but it was sim-ang. X meyer 735 a meyer grandson with a irish whiskey dam. I am a freshmen in HS so I cannot start another cycle of maternal cattle. I need to breed for steers NOW. If you have cows that are not heifer mates to steers, then you have...

    Old Cows

Better to start with cows with no clubby in them then the heifer mates to steers to produce clubbys. Meyer 734 X Angus F1s are not really clubby bred but have a great track record of producing the good steers. F1s, whether it be Simmi X Angus or Maine X Angus, have a great chance of getting good...

at the end of the rope

Make sure you take the buddy steer with you to weigh in. If its anything like ours its kinda loud and hectic. Keep real calm, let everyone know to be real calm and slow around this calf. A good experience away from home can make or break it now. If its a good time it might be what you need to...

What should I have in my Cattle First Aid kit?

I would have something on hand for bloat. Maybe mineral oil and a drench gun to administer it. Or a bloat go of some kind but make up your mind which on you are using first as you cant use both at one time. http://www.shanestack.com/shop/index.php?page=shop-flypage-11419 There are a couple...

how would you feed this one

how would you feed this one

Have a ET bull that had a horrible mother. Older cow with a bad udder. Yes she is gone, no I didn't keep any daughters, anyway back to the calf. He is stunted, still built well, his brother is a good looking calf so the genetics are there. How would I feed the little guy to get the most out of...

    Heifer with light bloat?

I saw that too after I posted it. I just found the example online, not a personal photo thank goodness.

    Heifer with light bloat?

If that is as full as she looks I would not worry about her at all. Her stomach is on the left side so it will be fuller on that side and is normal. If she gets as full as the photo then worry.

    Buying Pregnancies

You take home the recip cow and have to take the risk of calving problems. Usually its a 60 day pregnancy that is guaranteed,  It does not guarantee a live calf. I would also look at the recip cow to see attitude and size.

Tyson stops buying Canadian beef due to US country-of-origin meat labeling

For COOL labeling, don't they want country of birth, country where fed and country where processed? Lots of north American cattle cross borders for these stages in life to death. That would add money to keep track of that. And if born in Canada but fed and processed in US, who gets the label?

    Foundation Black/Red Charolais Herd Dispersing

Hey Mark, what do the letters, after the names of the parents, mean in the pedigrees? (QSR) (QPR) (QS) (Q) you get the idea. Also when she says Homo Red, does that mean free of the diluter gene?

    One and Only pedigree info.

I know the sire, but on the dams side there is a bull called Full Attack. Anyone got any info on him? I also know that Yatzees dam was a yellow(smoke) baldie. Just wondering where the Hereford colouring on O&O calves is coming from. Have seen a few by him coloured  this way, but I don't think...
