I used Jesse James to clean up with year. I can tell you that he is not very big, but he is very well put together. He also has a very good temperment and that's important to me. I'll know in the spring about the calves that he throws.
I tried something different this year. I sync all the cows that had a chance of responding and AI'd them. Then I leased an AI bull to do my cleanup. I'll know in the spring how it worked.
We might not have been there for the first one Sue, but one of the first. I remember the Barnes family selling show supplies out of that little office on the south side of the old PAV.
I found out this weekend that the name has been changed to the Great Lakes State Fair. It is being held in Novi Aug 31 - Sep 3. From what is says only breeding stock will be shown. Website is www,GreatLakesStateFair.org. Hope this helps.
From what I can find they held the Great Lakes Agricultural Fair last year, minus any agriculture. It was a carnival. They said that this year they would add the ag part but their website has been removed. Must have joined the state fair (gone).
Well Doug, we had 10 inches of snow a week & a half ago then it melted then rained and now we have another 8-10 inches of snow. And the mud is coming overthe top of my boots when I feed the bull. Guess I'll have to move a little further north.
