    Just wondering how many people cook feed for their show cattle? Why do you do it? Does it work differently on different types of cattle? What equipment do you use? What type of feed do you cook? I know a few people that have either tried it or do it and am thinking about it for another year...

    What do you feed? Do you use a feed cooker or not?

    I feed a 14% custom ration that is prepared at a mill with a high percentage flaked corn, some oats and pellet and molasses's. I am away a lot and have a young family so I need to keep it simple. I would not be opposed to doing something else when I have more help.

    There were very few farm kids at the highschool that I attended. I think I was one of about only 3 or 4 that showed beef calves. There wasn't much of an Ag group to fit into. I didn't have a lot of fun or form many lasting friendships until I hit University and was registered in an Ag program...
