As a resident of Ohio I second the Cedar Point mention. Insane roller coasters. I play golf right by Niagra Falls every summer. If you've never seen it, it's well worth the trip.

Shorthorn bull from a calf to yearling progression

I'd like to see a little more girth behind his shoulders but other than that, he's a heck of a looking bull. The last picture really gives you a much better look at him. Good luck

They look good as usual. A up and coming herd for sure

    Shorthorn weaning weights.

I had the wrong bull. It was A@T PowerRanger up in Michigan.

    Shorthorn weaning weights.

I may be mistaken but I believe Lone Ranger was in Michigan. He had a attitude problem if it's the bull that was at Shoup's.

Shorthorn sire test and progeny test at Univ of Ill.

I think you'll need a wakaru bull in there too. Orion would be good.

No the cost can't be justified. Name one thing the Asa does to help its members? Nothing. I want to register my cattle, but not when it costs me money to do it and I get no benefit. It's time for the Asa to step up. Long past time actually.

Kinda like how this cow is built

    Shorthorn 2 yeqr old sire

Either that bull is standing wrong or he breaks terribly behind the shoulders. No heart girth. Big hard doing looking head. This is where chasing EPD's can get you in trouble in my opinion. I'll take the first bull pictured all day over the top seller

    Shorthorn weaning weights.

I think a lot are just bad pictures. It's amazing to me how hard it is to truly represent a bull with a picture.

Are these other calves all purebred or crosses?

    Shorthorn 2 yeqr old sire

He looks good. I'd also note by the manure on his butt, he's eating good stuff. They don't feed grain down under right? So what's giving his manure the grain looking color? Just curious. I'd use that bull in a heartbeat.

I'd buy semen if it comes available.

    Commercial Type Cattle Discussion

I said there are plenty of examples where selecting for too much growth that leads to problems. So I don't think I said growth is the top priority. But to put it at the bottom is crazy to me. It's gotta be in the top 5 things to me at least. Adequate growth is defined differently by different...

I saw the angus bull she had last few years. He was a moderate chunk. Sired by SAV Net Worth I believe.

Plenty of examples of cattle that don't grow well enough in 2016. I'm not going to publicly point them out however. I think you put growth where you did because that's where your bulls fall into. Your choice. I think you pick apart what you want in a cow a little too much. The things you list is...

She has some of the best cows nobody knows about. I keep trying to tell her to use a shorthorn bull again but these calves are hard to argue.

    Commercial Type Cattle Discussion

I think you can find plenty of examples where growth was chased too much but to put it on the bottom of priorities is crazy to me. A cow has to fit her farm. Be calm, good momma, produces a good not average calf, and does it for a long time. More days on feed is less money in my pocket and...
