    Matt Lautner question

Yes sir, I've been known to do it. I'm not working to give someone money. Should be them working for me to give them money!

    Matt Lautner question

That's the way it should be. I don't care if I buy the best, I want the best customer service tho. If not you won't see a dime from me.

Opinions on Sim bull One Eyed Jack

He is a bull on my radar. He is coming on his 2nd calf crop. It will be next year before we see milking daughters. He is his dam's first calf. He is double bred Legacy. In order to use a bull to flush I'd need the bull's dam to of had 3-4 calves. Seen milking daughters of him. Just to much...

    The Charolais Curl

Simmental heifer girl had here I asked around and steer jocks all told me mayonnaise. Used a lot on her but it worked wonders! Don't remember how many times or what not they did it...

Older Semen, what to breed it to.

Girl down the road had me breed her really tiny frail made Gizmo cow to Cowboy Cut long time ago. That was the best calf that cow ever had. No hair but guts, butt and grew like heck. I mean this cow was 1100# max. Steer was close to 1600 at 15 months. I was just talking to her other day and she...

who pulled the me vs trausch thread

Stayed a lot longer than I thought it would. But why in the H**l did someone not speak up and grow a pair. I'm done with their stuff. I may just lift it out of the tank tonight and throw it on the ground. Far as I'm concerned with their name I want it as far away from my cattle as possible!

who would you breed her to?

2nd calf and you wouldn't mind some color why not a good Hereford? Give her another nice easy calf with some crome but could make a heck of a replacement too. Just what I would do anyway.

    AI in bad weather?

http://documents.crinet.com/Genex-Cooperative-Inc/Learning-Center/F3227-022-DavisPocketThaw.pdf Equal fertility this document says. I have never had an issue. Biggest thing is keep warm ONCE IT'S WARM! And yes cbcr, if it works then it really doesn't matter what other people do!

    AI in bad weather?

Woody where is this data you have found giving up 8-15%? For 5 years at the other farm I pocket thawed all semen (even ones your not supposed to!) and have had same results over the last 5 years after investing in a truck plug in one. Also if I remember right Genex did a study and it had no...

    upgrade birthweights

He is breed average for CE and BW with acc of 90%. I would not buy a heifer bred to him but I would consider it on a heifer I had that I knew the background on for a few generations. We had pair of bulls born here at 88 and 93#. Both shaped right but just a tick heavy to be a "heifer bull".

Limestone Trifecta 714 , any daughters out there ???

Matt,   We got a fall heifer here due to calve in spring. Her mother is as good of an In Dew Time as I have seen and Trifecta made her better. Cleaned her up, deeper, and all in all prettier....but! She is wilder than a deer. Kept a herd bull back and used last year out of a 3/4 blood cow...

    maternally Yours

Here is one of our Maternally Yours heifers. Kind of made the same as her momma, other same thing I'd say. Just a tick of white on her head. She is hairy, soggy and thick. She sells as lot 1 in Allamakee County Cattlemen's Purple Ribbon Prospect Sale

Potential genetic defect in Shorthorn cattle

I do not agree with the registrations on Simmentals either. I'm a young guy and get more pride breeding up than going out and buying the best and going from there. Our "defect" cattle around are going into terminal production. Even using commercial angus cows to breed up is to costly for me to...

Potential genetic defect in Shorthorn cattle

Simmental has done no such thing to me. I have a half blood this year and I reported she is out of a shorthorn x angus cow. I have another I registered last year out of a different cow that I registered than reported that she is THC.

    liquid courage

I used him after having good luck with Maternally Yours this year. That shot of Maine on these higher % Simmentals really gives the calves that clubby look without crossing them up so bad. Have one due end March next year on a baldy JS Sure Bet cow. Just wish he wasn't PHAC!

    holstein x clubby

I use alot of old clubby bulls on our late lactation cows. All of them have worked so far. Sold some 40 day old shorthorn x Holstein bulls at last sale brought $1120 for pair. Weighed 315 on the two. Feeders like them!
