I was talking about initial weigh-in for the county and state fairs to try and get better rate of gains. It always look good to the judge if the animal can really gain well. Lots of good opinions. Thanks

I usually feed them on Thursday night and then hold them off everything Friday morning if our weigh-in is on Saturday morning. I usually will give them just a little hay to keep their stomachs happy.

How long can you safely hold calves off of feed and water before weigh-in? Any suggestions or products that will flush them out?

Ours is usually on a Saturday but Christmas and new year's are on Saturday's and the beef superintendant has a calf show on the 18th. I just feel it's going to make it harder for people in the middle of the week

Our beef weigh-in is set for December 29 Wednesday. What are peoples opinions on having a weigh-in in the middle of the week, especially those who have jobs away from the farm?  As many and all opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks Jason

Brent is the last heifer tag 4 I did't see her in with the other calves the other day when I went through and that was one I was trying to get another peak at.

Lautner's blog is saying that jorgensen had the grand champion nonclone steer is that implying that the faber calf is a clone? I personally don't care for the whole clone thing it just doesn't seem right to me.

I was just wanting to find out if a cost effective show feed would be beneficial using a roller mill and not steaming it and if it would be something that we could sell easily. Thanks for the comments I appreciate them and keep em coming any and all are helpful.

I was just wanting some opinions on this. Whether the cost for steam rolled show feeds was enough of a benefit compared to a show feed that is made with corn just going through a roller mill and not being steam flaked. Just want some opinions.  Thanks Jason
