    Best for Lice?

I agree that has to get expensive... And Cydectin burnt a heifer of mine last time :( I don't know if I'll use it on her again! I had to follow up with injectable ivermec to get all the lice we had a few months back! Injectable worked GREAT but I'm sure cydectin started the process. I have heard...

    Getting through this stage?

Sounds like he's eating good. Look into some supplements. Purina power fuel is a high fat supplement that might help. I don't know how the weather is in your area right now... Here its cold and crappy. I've been very happy with how power fuel has worked for me.

    Blood in Stool

Blood in her stool could be an ulcer. We had one come in to weigh-in s acting fine... Saw some blood in his stool and that was it's problem. I have never had blood in a calfs stool personally but wouldn't think it would translate to a breeding issue.

    High Octane

Somewhere around the two week mark.  I started out feeding 2 oz 2x's a day for a couple days, then up to 4, then 6.  I don't believe they were on 6 oz 2x's a day for much over a week until I dropped them down.  It's been a few months so I don't remember the exact timeline. Sorry.

    High Octane

Crushertown - I agree about the heifers 100% that's why I dropped mine down below the recommended level! But it worked pretty good pretty fast! I've never used it on a bull...

    High Octane

I have been using high octane power fuel and am very happy with my results! I worked up to 6 oz 2x's a day then dropped back down to 4 on my 5 8-10 month olds. 4 of them are breeding heifers and they started to ramp up a little to much. Overall I'm very happy with it! Hope this helps!! ;D

    I-80 calves

I have been told by someone that saw him in the flesh that he is very small. It had been recommended to me by a few people that I use him on my heifers. I want a calf that isn't going to die or kill my heifer cause it's to big. I used Extra K205 of my hairy bear heifer and he came out SMALL but...

How does your check in work?

Ours is the 2nd Saturday in December tagging and optional weigh in for a mid July fair.  No electronic tagging or nose printing so far. They do nose print for our state fair though. You are supposed to have possession off your animal by December 1 of every year but as long as they are at tagging...

    Hairy bear Heifer

She looks good, different from my Hairy Bear heifer!! Mine is a cross with a primarily angus cow.  She had her first calf last year out of Nichols Extra he is looking pretty good.  This year we bred her to Goldmine and of course we'll see what that little one will look like in time.  Knowing the...

    Lice?

I've head of ivermectin "burning" the skin.  It's almost like a chemical burn that's why I prefer cydectin.  We used it in college at our farm that's where I heard about it.  It worked great and I've never heard of them getting "burns" from it.  Look under the hair and see if there is anything...

    Lice?

We have 4 calves in the barn... 1 heifer was rubbing pretty good.  I'm presuming it was lice we treated with cydectin a week ago.  It seems to have helped a whole lot.  I just don't get why one would get it and the other not so much.  I also was wondering why we've gotten it... the birds could...

4 heifers to breed...looking for bull suggestions!?

I've used Hairy Bear and am very pleased with the heifer I have out of him!!  I used Nichols Extra K205(I believe) on my Hairy Bear heifer for her first calf and he came out fine... and very small!  He looks pretty good too, he weighed 600 lbs at 6 months so I can't really complain (clapping). ...
