    How's this for cattle pasture?

That gadget would be great if I had any pasture.  Yes, an engineering marvel running on solar power.

How long to put on finish?

It all depends on the amount of energy in the diet.  He should be on a finishing diet now, rather than a grower.  The energy content of the diet should be 3.16 and 3.45 Mcal/kg of dry matter and he should be eating at the very least a total of 27.5 lbs per day and more would be better.  Check...

    What is a desirable carcass?

Yes, loaded question since it depends on who is asking.  The Y/G system is flawed if you ask me and does not serve the consumer.  In the day I was taught the following rank of carcass qualities. 1. Tenderness 2. Marbling 3. Rib eye of 12", this may have changed since the late 80s, but steaks...

    Walmart beef

I won't eat it because at the local Wal-Mart they let it sit out on the dock or back room for hours at a time.  Same with the other meats.

Best type of breed, or animal to use as a milk cow?

Jersey, Guernsey or Brown Swiss would be my choices.  All produce high butter fat milk.  I love the Swiss for their teddy bear temperament and the Jersey-X beef, as others have mentioned, is great in the freezer too.

    Angus Semen

The only bull not available from a distributor would be Hot Rod.  His semen, when you can find it, will bring upwards of $350/straw.  If you have some Hot Rod to sell, please let me know.

    Ton cow day

Bring back the frame size and weights of the middle 1990s.  Life was great back then, no credit to the implanted politics of the time though as I blame a lot of those policies for the trouble we have now.
