Used him on some purebred Limi heifers, we will know in about 30 days how the calves look. Ridiculous epd spread and a good looking bull to boot, hope it works.

Our vet used quite a bit of EXT and the daughters made the Limis from 20 years ago look like puppy dogs.  What was he known for besides the bad disposition of his progeny?

It happens quite a bit I would guess.  Buying from a reputable breeder solves a lot of these problems.  On a lot of these clubby deals I would make sure the seller understands that you believe you are bidding on a papered animal before you bid on the calf.  It seems like an unnecessary step but...

Tenderness varies more animal to animal than it does between breeds.  A breed as a whole might be slightly more tender than another breed but the animals within that breed would have much more variation.  So it is very possible that the test is correct.

I think if you feed him well you have a nice project.  He looks well balanced and sound.  I will agree about being finer boned but by the time he gets fat I think he will have adequate depth.
