    Durhams for Denver

Um.....not to stir the pot, but, that black, polled, blazefeaced Simmental bull in your avatar sure as hell isn't going to sire any 850-lb weaning weights, either, is he? He's almost a thousand pounds lighter and four frame-scores shorter at the hip than many of his ancestors (who were dilluter...

    Shorthorn Cow Families

My favorites were: Joy Maid, Foxglove, Butterfly, and Clara, at Russell Sloans, and Augusta Bloom, Rose Bloom, Golden Clunny from Whittle Bros., and the ol' dual-purpose cow families from Haumont, such as Helianthus and Cherry. Get a Herd-builder, not a Halter-hoochie, just my opinion. GB

    NEW AMERICAN BULL!!!

I think he's good-enough to use as a "terminal" sire on a British cow with depth, and adequate performance and softness.....provided the calving ease is there. To produce a more "Showy" calf for the "ear" classes on the Texas Show Circuit, I would look for a cow that was either a GertxHORNED...

    Thoughts on 3/4 simmi bull

Well.........keep in mind, only the logo is a registered trademark, not the name. Originally, the word "playboy" meant  "Stud"womanizer, lout. and generally, a boisterous, arrogant party animal, somewhere between Donald Trump and Bill Clinton. GB

    Durhams for Denver

He has a lower $CEZ number, but, I can't seehow that could be, with his BW and EPD Profile. GB

    Durhams for Denver

Seeing as how #21 will be a crowd favorite, as well as a sought-after bull, and rightfully so, due to his depth of body and fleshing ease, my pick would be #15...........even if he has a black nose, eyes, and what-not. He looks like one of the slicker-haired bulls being offered, and travels and...

    US Farm Bill

Even with the appendix-influence in his herd, I'll bet AJ's Shorthorns are purer Shorthorn than most people'sMaines are actually Maine-Anjous. And, Yes, he retains ownership, and has the balls and sense to be tough on his cows. He also has the testicular fortitude to be direct with people, much...

    Shorthorn bulls

    Shootings!!! N/C

I might add, to those of Y'all that are always putting down Latinos, and downplaying their role in our society (Y'uns know who Ye' are! Doc,etc.), why was one of the heroes an Educator of Hispanic decent, who died trying to protect children........not a single one of whom was Latino? GB

    TH Proliferation

Y'all still ain't answered my question. Why, at purebered Livestock events, do Y'uns roll your eyes and put-down Shorthorns for TH, then turn right around and use a "Correctly Pigmented" Black or Smoke bull that is a TH carrier?????? Y'uns make smartass remarks about color, then use Walks Alone...

What do you think of this Shorthorn female?

Do the math....2.22 pounds per Kilogram. I'll leave Y'uns up to your own conclusions. GB ;)

Yep! Right by Joplin. Too bad, it was the same weekend as the Durham Nation Sale. GB

    Shorthorn bulls

On the heifers, Toby, what is #1002? I am a big fan of "Vanguard" at Paul Bridwell's. Y'uns missed out on a whale of a heifer at the 4-State Sale back in November. GB

What do you think of this Shorthorn female?

There's a video of Tarves Count Willy from an A.I. Stud in South America. I'll try to find it. Until then, John-Pierre, could you post pics of "Estrella" for the people to see, Thank You! GB

    TH Proliferation

Until then, he don't give a 'durn' how many broken-hearted kids and angry parents find a dead, defective calf and/or injured cow/heifer in the corrall. You're right, though...He'll jump high & fart loud when he does discover the "Holy Grail". GB

What do you think of this Shorthorn female?

Count Willy and Estrella are my two favorites you have Pictured. GB

    TH Proliferation

Seems like TH is being spread faster by the show cattle biz, than the Shorthorn breed could. However, it chaps my rear when someone at a show says TH "came from Shorthorns", which it did, but, then they turn around and use a dirty crossbred bull to make a show calf. GB

What do you think of this Shorthorn female?

The breeder's  Ranch Name is "Shorthorn Tres Hojas". They have a website for their Shorthorns, their Black Angus, and, their Argentine Crillollo Cow Horses. Y'uns should look it up in your spare time. The owner's name is Guiilermo, and he speaks fluent English, so communication through social...
