    2013 World Shorthorn Conference

The Brits need some easier-fleshing genetics.Necessary, in order to tone-down those GIANTS, in my opinion. GB

Shadybrook Scotty 83K calves, and other!

Her udder looks ideal. What does she weigh? How much did she weigh, and how much did her calf weigh at weaning? Do a little simple division, and calculate what percentage of her own body weight she produced. GB

Shorthorn $ figures now have % rankings

We are now paying for our transgressions against common sense. I think breeding for hair, color, and choked front ends has landed us in Cattlemen's Purgatory. GB

Shadybrook Scotty 83K calves, and other!

Duncraggan Augusta 058 looks like the "GaryBob Type"....The DARK roan color of her heifer calf is making my pulse race. I'd better get off the computer, before I have a cerebral anyeurism. GB ;) <cowboy> <rock> <party> (thumbsup) 8) ;D ;) :) :)

its ALL red, white, and roan under the hide!

What we need to get, are more South African, New Zealand, and Argentine Shorthorn breeding into our US-bred Shorthorns. However, international Politics, and how they negatively affect, or, in this case PREVENT necessary things like this from being possible, are annoying....for now...

I want top see how the entire group did, not just yours, Cowdoc. GB

Shadybrook Scotty 83K calves, and other!

I'm with vanridge! Doesn't matter that he's white. He's gonna be a head-turner as a mature bull. GB

    Walmart beef

WalMart does buy corn-fed beef. You guys kill me, on here sometimes!@!@!!!! Dang-it, just because Wal Mart and Tyson are located in the Ozarks, people believe they are putting open cows fed rained-on Fescue hay into their product lines. I hate to tell Y'uns this, but, NW Arkansas, and the Ozarks...

Breeding on ability of the Shorthorn color pattern

That would be Danny Knust, in Marshfield, Missouri. Had a bull out of a CCS White Tornado cow from Brockmueller's and, I think, the ol' Blizzard bull of Frank Kaehler. GB

    Checking Cattle Pictures 2012

I want to see pics of those line-backed, white-faced roan heifers out of him...ASAP, TDU... GB

    Waukaru Patent 8161

Some people are a little more uneasy than necessary. Waukauru did the best they could during the pre-Ethanol years, by documenting the "grow-ability" of their cattle...and getting them out into the Industry. What's wrong with that? Would i like to see more guts, nutts, and butts put on their...

I provide the carcass data...you guess the breed

We shouldn't block Europeans from immigrating here. That's true. I agree. The problem with the Bracero Program, is that people didn't want their best employees leaving. Probably was a California Dairyman or wine grape grower, that was the first person to allow a Bracero to hide-out in the bunk...

I provide the carcass data...you guess the breed

Is every Latino an undocumented immigrant committing identity fraud?Seriously. Facts are, that it was the California Horticultural Crop Industry, as well as the Golden State's Mega-Dairies that started welcoming those folks. The Beef, Pork, and Poultry Industries in the Midwest and Upland South...

    JSF Gauge

That's an awfull good bunch of heifers. Do you guys ever use that cactus as feed, during drought years? It has a lot of TDN, and you can burn the stickers off of it, and cattle will literally fight and head-butt each other trying to get to it. Southern Texas and Arizona and New Mexico cattlemen...

A new calving ease Shorthorn sire

Actually, AJ, I think quite a few of the Aristocracy have Shorthorns. Maybe not the Royal Family, but several of their Buddies. GB

What do you mean no commercial shorthorns?

McMillan Ranch, Lewistown, MT......Haumont Ranch, Broken Bow, NE....A&T Cattle Co, Hay Springs, NE (and, they're way the heck out past Scotsbluff).....a few more names for you. GB

I provide the carcass data...you guess the breed

You've sure as shooting got me riled up, here, but I'll remain tactful.       "it could be the Mexican stamping on the kill floor stamped wrong".........what if it were a white gal that dropped out of high school, doesn't know anything about livestock, and is doing what her Dept Mgt directs...

I provide the carcass data...you guess the breed

Yes, Chambero, I'd say you're right-on about that. The second thing I'll say is breeding and selecting for calm-natured cattle helps this tremendously. Shorthorns have no equal in this regard. GB
