With all of the publicity surrounding the genetic defects in the Angus breed, how has that impacted the value of known (tested) carriers?  I'm sure this varies from sale to sale and animal to animal, but I would be interested in anyone's first hand experience or observations from sales you have...

That may be true with heifers--at least you have "breeding stock" when you're done. Steers, well, unless they win you probably have an animal worth market price. I'm certainly not trying to argue with anyone--I'm just saying MOST people would certainly rather sell steers than gamble on a big...

OK, I'll be the first to ask--if you don't want to BUY the steers, what's in it for the "seller"? You are assuming a profit--often that is not the case when feeding show steers. I would love to hear your proposal--either post it here or send me a PM if you don't want to share with everyone....

From the perspective of a lifelong Hereford breeder, this should not be close. I could list a ton of breed leading sons AND daughters of Online. Reload, on the other hand...can't think of very many that would be considered breed greats.  Of course, just my opinion.......

Fuston's May heifer - Don't remember the lot number.

Sale went well.  Top heifer was $23K, 2nd high heifer was $19K, another heifer at $17K.  There were some heifers that probably sold for less than what they were worth, but the vast majority brought more than what they were worth IMHO.  The market on top end Hereford heifers is crazy right now -...
