A good day in Kansas City

Wanted to share a link to a picture of our heifer that was a reserve division champion in the open Hereford show at the Royal - we haven't had too many "in the purple" in Kansas City, so couldn't resist the chance to share! ...

Pelletted Cotton seed hulls versus regular

FWIW--- Purina/Honor Show Chow has switched a significant portion of the CS hulls in their feed to the pelleted form, at least in our area--looks a bit different but seems to feed the same.

    Finising fat% (Umbargers) Opinions

Not having fed Umbarger feed myself (although I know lots of folks who do feed it), I cannot answer the question with certainty, but my thought is there is more included in the total energy of a feed than just its fat content...i.e. starch/carbs. I have not heard of complaints with finishing...

    Umbarger feeds

I would guess that Umbarger does not make their exact feed contents public knowledge--you may have to do a bit of trial and error to come up with a very similar mix.

Opinions on PB Charolais heifer. What do you think of her?

Very much the type of Char heifer I would like to find...very square hipped, nice muscle shape, deep bodied, and moderate (at least for a Charolais). Most Chars will have a bit of shoulder, but don't always have the rest of the qualities this heifer has...if you get tired of looking at her, let...

    Q Dog??

We've seen a bunch of them this fall--with the exception of one, they have all had the same look--kind of that "baby fat steer" look. I would be concened that alot of them may not get very big. I guess I haven't been that concerned with structural issues on the ones I've seen--just wish they...

BWF Heifers for sale--Recips--Possible Trade! PICTURE ADDED

We have been asked if all of the heifers are similar to the one pictured--in my opinion she is my least favorite of the 3--she was the first one to stand still for a photo!  One of the heifers is similar in type, probably a little deeper. The 3rd heifer is more moderate, maybe a bit thicker. All...
