    Vet Charges

Keep in mind also this is Saturday(the weekend) and most people don't work 24/7 unless you're like me trying to support 2 ex-wives and 5 kids but that's a whole different topic. Drink a few beers, calm down and then Monday morning call in to the office and ask for the office/business manager or...

    Cut the BS

as far as kids flooding the board with stupid questions, be a bit more understanding, everyone starts somewhere and they our are future, there are a hell of a lot more yuppies then farmers. Face it guys we are a dyeing breed, so before you cut each others throats please keep in mind we should...

I gotta agree with Jody to an extent on this one.  We can look at pics but having someone see him in person is better.  In my opinion and keep in mind that's all it is is that for a PB angus he ain't bad at all.  Every animal has a weight range that they will look and do the best based on frame...

    Need Herdsman, where to look?

Put an add on the classified here, never know what you might find.  Then again you might try Jim Tressel, after that bang up job he did at OSU i heard he's looking for work.  Would be a great PR man.  (lol) (lol) (lol)  ROLL TIDE

    Cut the BS

And that's your opinion of his opinions.  You know what they say about opinions.... they're like %$@holes  and you should know the rest.  It's that darn little thing called the first amendment that's give him, you, and me the right to say what we want without getting our heads chopped off.  Damn...

    Conditioning/Growing hair

As far right or wrong can't say for sure without looking at the manual but as long as you can set it to come at multiple times a day and for a certain length of time you should be good to go.  The one we have had a dial with the hours of the day on it and you put little pins in it to turn it on...

    Conditioning/Growing hair

You got it. I would go filter/timer/misting ring.

    Conditioning/Growing hair

We use a valve with a built in timer that is designed for lawn/landscape sprinklers.  Think we got it at Lowes.  If your using the concentrated sheen mix it with water according to directions on bottle and then you can mix that with vinegar if you want.  The vinegar helps prevent dandruff and...

using a donkey to halter break

Local guy here use to raise simmys and I've seen him take yearling bulls that had never been fooled with and put the donkey on them.  Within a week he was showing and selling them.  Like the saying goes it's not so much the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog. ...

    cooler

If you don't to go the cool calf route contact a local hvac specialist.  You're need a pretty big unit for 20x40.  They can tell exactally what size you will need depending on things like insualtion value sun exposure and other variables.  Be careful on used units though sometimes the initial...

    Show Day/Fitting Routine

I know one that can hold a beer, cigarette, comb and clip all at the same time...kinda impressive to watch. [ That part takes years and years of practice and you can't learn it from watchin ya just gotta do it. Good thing beer doesn't come only 12 cans to a case we'd have empty boxes...

    Showmanship Questions

Be prepared for anything but don't drive yourself nuts trying to learn it all because you won't.  A few yrs ago the showmanship judge asked my daughter who weighed about 50 lbs and had a 1500 lbs steer how a little girl got such a big steer.  She looked right at him and proudly said "He liked to...

    Bucket Heaters before fitting

We generally use the bucket heater for warmin the glue if the air temp is below 60.  It just makes your spray so much more even when you warm it.  Just be sure the heater doesn't come in direct contact with the can coz it will send it shy high. (Speaking from personal expierience).

    livestock saying and quotes

It didn't take us long after that to figure out we weren't sheep people either.  That's why I'm posting on steerplanet and not club lamb page.  (lol)

~Opinion on these Heifers and Breeding Opinion~

Both very maternal appear.  Good structured calves with volume.  Keep in mind heifers are still heifers regardless of breed or breeding and you may want to consider Northern Improvement for first calving.  He's known for calving ease and will throw some good calves, and if they happen to be...

    livestock saying and quotes

My dad said this about 2 mins after my brother"s lamb died . " I'm gonna tell you kids right now  when you raise livestock sooner or later you're gonna have some dead stock.  "

    Practicing Before a Show

Another thing you want to keep in mind is lighting.  I've seen cattle through the years get freaked out by shadows or lighting that shines into the ring from sides instead of straight down.  Try to mix it up some at home if you can.  We use the portable work type lights and move them around to...
